Hello all, I'm an Obernewtyn fan stuck in Manchester (UK).
Pierlu's just a shortened version of my crazy French name.
Anyhow, I just joined Ober.net, and I've been allocated to the 'Ashlings'. I must admit, this Guild affiliation thingamajig has gone straight over my Newbie head.
Could I have some help with what it entails please? Thanks. javascript:add(
Oh, and for anybody who bothers to read all of this, I'm 18, love my sport (hockey, football, badminton, athletics, tiddlywinks et al), love reading, live music (eclectic taste, but Indie Rock at the moment!), and I can't wait for Uni in September (studying English Lit.)
I own a lot of brown T-shirts, and am currently sporting HUMONGOUS bruises from a gig I went to last night.
Rushton is a legend; Elspeth should trust him more.
Errr...think that's about it, Ciao.

Hi Pierlu, welcome to Obernet! I'll forgive you for your Rushton adoration just this once If you want info about the guilds, check out this thread What/Whose gig did you go to last night? Cheers & Chocca, Min

Yaay! Another UK member *grugs* Good to have you here, Pierlu!
Right then, guilds. I'm no expert, but basically they're a way to get to know people on the boards and become more involved. If you have a look round the Dining Hall and the Ashings board you'll see that there are competitions set up by certain guilds, and possibly internal guild games. Builds team spirit You don't have to join in with anything as it's just a bit of fun, but I think you'll enjoy your time at Ober.net much more if you do!
Ooo, a crazy French name, eh? Sounds excellent!!
Not with you on the sport, but loving the music and I bt you'll love uni! I'm doing Publishing at the moment and th Eng part of my course is pretty interesting.
I lurve Rushton...apart from how rude he was to me at the Mystics Ball...pah!! It's all about the pig with him. Have you read all four books so far? Any other IC books you've read?
Right...I'll stop my ramblings now...

Hiya, and welcome! Nice to see another Brit on the board! If you check the "Help" section there are introductions to each of the guilds, which may help ease your confusion.
Where are you going to uni?

onlinHello, and thanks for all the greetings. Sorry for the tardy reply, but had to rush off for college photographs
To Min: I went to a Dirty Pretty Things gig (ex-Libertines' Carl Barat's new band). They were incredible, but too much alcohol was imbibed. Needless to say, debauchery ensued, and gallons of Baxter's 'lobster bisque' soup were consumed and/or thrown around my kitchen
Lucy: The crazy frenchness is due to my crazy French mum (and the name is Pierre-Louis btw). I read the OC for the first time yonks ago, but never realised anybody else in the UK had heard of it! Happy to find out I'm wrong. The only other IC book I've read is 'The Gathering'. Any others to suggest?
I shall check back in again Tues 'cause I'm off to Brighton for the weekend.
Have a good'un.

Pierlu, try Scatterlings, I think it was published over there. Other than that, order online. Definately recommend Darkfall, Darksong, and Alyzon Whitestarr! Have fun in Brighton! *raises hand to shadow* I'm a tech...apparently. Well, it's what I get paid to do I'm in Inventor (3D modelling package) support and all the computer support that goes with getting the software installed and working correctly. What are you in particular? *covers ears* and why are you shouting at us? lol.

What am I? I am a swimmer, I am still at school... Hey, cool job. I know someone that can program a computa to do anything, like crash after five minutes. I joined the Dreamweavers guild three...four minutes ago!

Aaaahhh Baxters. i may hVE CONSUMDA too much aholhol rght now, but never mind. :Last time I went to Bright it was SOOO hoot and sunny. Have fun!
