To be honest, we generaly think the same thing about women. Thats probably pretty close to the mark for the majority though

Hey, i wasn't having a go! Don't worry!
As i said, i think what you described is pretty close to the majority for most men. Its possible, as you say, that by trying to understand women, we end up upsetting them.
We generaly think that women can't be understood and are unpredictable.
Maybe someone needs to build a translating device?

Yeah, it's under warrenty, that's what i'm having problems with, the warrenty guys. If it wasn't under warrenty, i could take it to my friend who would fix it up for next to nothing. But if i do that, it breaks warrenty, so i must deal with complete idiots.
never, ever, ever, ever, going to buy something with extended warrenty from Harvey Norman again, they know how to screw you around. DJs, GBs have never stuffed around with me this much. it's just not worth it.

Unfortunately warranty people are like that the world over.
With a normal PC, and extended warranty isn't worth it, but with things like laptops and TFT screens it can be worth it as they are sometimes very expensive to repair

One question: You said you didn't have insurance. Is that legal? late reply - yes, it's legal. Every car in Aus that's registered has compulsory 3rd party insurance, that you pay when you pay the registration, automatically organised for you by dept of Transport, but you can change who it's through if you really want to. On top of that, is other insurance, from Fire/theft, to fully comprehensive, which you have to organise yourself. So basically, yah, we had the compulsory 3rd party. There was no extra insurance on it though. It was so sad. I've just been in cairns for a week...I couldn't bare going to see the car in it's burnt-out state, but my brother had photos and movies on his phone of it...it was awful. Totally destructive waste. It turns out that the guy/s who supposedy did it had just been released from jail in Townsville from murder charges or something. Once my bro's friends catch up with them, they won't be around much longer. Scum.

Once my bro's friends catch up with them, they won't be around much longer. Scum. That's a much better way of doing insurance. In the UK we have to have a minimum of 3rd party, but we have to organise it ourselves. Hope you catch the guy tht did it!

I'd just like to Rant about A levels and the total unfairness of the marking system. I got my results yesterday and though i didn't fail *phew* i didn't get the results i wanted. I worked my butt off trying not to stuff up those exams. I read through marking schemes and talked to teachers and tryed to learn how to do things their way, the way the examiner wanted, as i have an annoying habit of ruining my exams by doing things my way and using things other than the sylibus (i can't help it, the sylibus is boring!) newho i did all that and was sure i had improved, screw it I had improved in my retake from last year, but nooo they just gave me the same result- not even one pont higher! *fumes* on a totally different set of emotions i did manage to get into a university not my first choice but still it's pretty spiffy. Tis in the heart of british sheep country, otherwise known as Wales so i'm still happy i'm doin a medieval studies/ english lit course, but the classics dept says they would offer a place as well so i'm not yet entirely sure.

Good for you Maeve! In Aus were now using (for the most part I think) Levels in stead of the A's and B's. Im not sure they work better, but it doesnt create so much competition with the students (I dont think...).

lauren, school marks shoud create a level of competitiveness, when you get to yr 11 and 12 you are competing for places in uni, at least many are, and many of those courses need a specific UAI, and often wth certain marks in some subjects (a common one would probably be C average in English) the whole point of a UAI is to show that you are able to do the work set in the course, either through it coming easily to you or through sheer hard work. Down here levels are only used to show how hard the work is in the subject (level 1, 2, 3, 4 maths, english and science), or in college (accredited or tertiary subjects)
A levels are like the HSC aren't they Maeve? do you do an exam for all your subjects? or is it just one set of exams at the end of your last year of school more like the AST we have in the ACT covering a few general areas i.e a written task, a multiple choice and a short answer exam?

A levels are like the HSC. there's two years of work- first is Advanced Subsidiary level (AS levels) which is basically the first half of the course. and the second year is Advanced Levels. so you have two sets of exams and then they combine to give you your final grades in your chosen subjects. they're definately NOT multiple choice and short answer. there's usually a combo for each course of assignment type coursework and exams. As i did only literary subjects (philosophy classics and english lit) i don't know much about the science/maths side. Arts (i did photography up to As level) involves personal projects and set exam projects. but every subject involves alot of hellish exams and usually around three course modules a year, all of which become seperate papers.

Installing MDT does NOT cause your system to crash, I don't care what he says, there had to have been something going on in the background that this ignoramous hasn't bothered to turn off or check if MDT's compatible with BEFORE he got it and it's only a frikkin' EVALUATION LICENSE, why does he think he can get full on technical support already?!?! I need a drink!! Today has been chaos! My phone is off the hook - I just REFUSE to take any more calls today!!

Can't function without Alex, everyday he's gone, i get grumpier and grumpier. If he doesn't get back soon i'm going to be snapping at everyone, heck, i already am. My wrists are too buggered to write by hand at the needed speed, and everytime i sit down to write on here i am interrupted by family members wanting to use the internet. Can't keep doing this. Writing is the only way i know how to cope, and i ain't coping. Stupid warranty people, if they think they've escaped my hit list they've got another thing coming.
