The Handmaid's Tale is by Margaret Atwood.
Dreadful world! Very icky! I reccomend the book.
Brave New World I hated.
1984 is another story, too!

Missed out on what? Skivvies and leg-warmers? Dresses with ludicrously puffy sleeves? Dammit, now I've made myself remember that 'Alice in Wonderland' blue and white dress I used to have with a ra-ra style skirt and little puffy sleeves. It was all silky, too. I WANT IT BACK!!

Well, in that case I agree with thee - the nineties were quite an interesting decade. Pre-internet, people! In fact, I think I was one of only about three people in my year who had a computer at home.

Mmm, I was the first year at my primary school to have the computer lab. It got built in the holidays just before I came. We were running Windows 95 and it was BRAND NEW and everyone was look "OOOOHH!" and there were folders on the desktop and no start button... In fact I remember trying to teach some teachers about the wonders of a start button when we got upgraded...
I don't remember much of the nineties, that's true... I remember the end of the nineties, but the bits I do remember of the start of the nineties was mostly outgrowing the 80s...

it's not stupid we all want to fufill what other people want for us but sometimes your dreams are just different and i think everyone is afraid of losing those they care about
at least it makes more sense than most fears people have

I have a major fear of Cane Toads... For anybody who lives outside QLD... They're coming to a town near YOU!!!I freeze at the sight of them... cause I have this thing in my mind that if it sense movement it will jump at me like a spring loaded beast and squrit poison all over me... Turns out that is completly not what they do but I've had to pop them on the head with a shovel so many times before I tend to treat them like a horror movie BEAST!!!! I have a fear of animals jumping on me... I was just locking my chickens in for the night and saw a possum above me and I was sure it was going to wrap itself around my head...! Do Possums/Flying Foxes jump...? I don't think they do... I think they just want to be left by themselves...

No, they definitely jump. I mean, you hear about possum-related head injuries all the time. I once had a friend whose cousin's wife's step-sister's second-best friend was once locking the chooks away JUST LIKE YOU and was horribly attacked and breathed on by a tree-leaping possum... Sorry, Glynnavyre. I have the same problem with dirty great spiders on the ceiling. I just can't walk under them because, you know, they're going to choose that moment to jump on me and creep through my hair. Eeeeeeeek! Spiders!!!!!!!!! * looks warily up at (thankfully) spider-free ceiling* You may now mock me in return.

spiders...hmm...i never really thought spiders were too scary, until... once i was making my way down the hall to the bathroom and there was a giant spider on the floor. i decided to leave it alone and go around it...i got about 30cm from it and it jumped at me. actually jumped!! i didn't think spiders could do that!! it freaked me out so much, because i think it landed on my foot or something. and then i screamed and ran away. the end.

ahhh! *screams* thats terrible!!!!
I hate spiders, that would have been terriffying!!!
I have bad experiences with them, nothing like that though Arien. WHen i was younger, me bed was next to a wall, so there was the corner next to my face, and one morning when i woke up, little me who was already scared of spiders was face to face with a hideously huge huntsman next to my face... too many thing like that have happened *shivers* strange thing is that whenever a friend or someone near me has a spider on them (which seems to happen often enough) i'm always the one that has to get it off cause no one else will go near 'em.
I used to cry everytime i saw a darn spider... slowly getting over being terrified *hopes* well... im not really but i dont cry when i see em anymore!
