Okay, here's another of KSL's bizarre conversation topics.
Today's question. What have you observed about Obernet, and Obernetters?
Don't understand what I mean, for example...
1. Have you ever noticed that very few people seem to sign their posts? Squarmi, for eg, ends every post with a yellow "Squarmi", and I can't think of anyone else, except me, who almost always puts a brief "KSL" at the end.
2. Have you ever noticed that Obernetters accept nearly everything? -Actors who do improvisation have to learn "accepting" rather than "blocking". This means that when another actor makes a suggestion during an improvisation, like:
"Why are you eating that monkey?"
The impro suffers from you saying:
"I'm not eating a monkey"
More exciting things will happen if you say:
"Because I didn't have any cheese"
Are you with me so far? What I've noticed about Obernetters is that they are all expert at accepting things. I would recommend any student of Impro visit us and see. Examples: -We blame Timm for stuff and he admits to it. -Buneater said she thought I was 4 foot tall with an orange moustache, and now it keeps coming in in posts.
That's what's so cool about Obernet! Anything can happen, and no one is really offended, and no one ever sucks the fun out of things by denying them!!!
So, what are YOUR observations? What does a specific person do ALL THE TIME? What is a general rule about Obernetters, or a specific Guild? What habit do two or three of us have in common?

It's a cow by the way! Or is it a pig? Are pigs still the new cows?
*looks confused and then perks up and just keeps going*
Buneater got it for me! If you click on it, it will take you to my writing diary, (also courtesy of the Bunly one) which has lots of cows!

I've noticed that I have a weird way of arguing.
In every debate, I will either agree with everyone, and get completely converted with every post, or...
THE FOOT IS DOWN PEOPLE!!!
Always decisive or indecisive. Never just quietly agreeing!

I've noticed that Obernetters seem to be mightely crazy. And that newbies who are not crazy tend to vanish after a few weeks.

yes, ive noticed that too!! and also about the sex thing! and well basically everything else youve all said... but ive noticed that most of us are pretty random at times except some people, like min and buneater and avra etc. and we can all talk about the most stupid things...and then sometimes someone comes up with a really interesting topic and we all get into that too. like this one. there was something else, but ive forgotten now...

I tend to sign my name just because otherwise people spend ages calling me 'Cat-Eyes' when they could easily use 'Cat'. Also it's just what I do... And I still count as a newbie, I only read the books in like June / July this year... And I think I put in my app in July when i first came to the site, I was then on the Dreamweaver boards for a little while once I was placed there and then when we got the little links (which was I think at the start of September, cause they came with the Moonfair) I started coming to the Ober net boards (these, in fact). I could sing my name, but I still want you all to keep your hearing.. Not that I'm a bad singer ( ), it's just while you were standing listening to me sing Mike Tyson might come along and bite off your ears. *gasp* OR THAT AXE MURDERER BEHIND YO- too late... Cat

I like this thread... but I don't have time to answer it properly now. So I'll just say, with a sniff at how unmemorable I am, that I always sign my posts with blindmouse Tourists of Fantasyland should note that SECRET PASSAGES are useful to the forces of EVIL. Oh no, blindmouse! You do to!!!
*massive hugs* I'm sorry!!!!
I owe you a big consolation gift. Here have a pine tree *gives blindmouse a pine tree*
I'm sorry! Please except this pine tree with my apologies, and help me and Squarmi form the "Sign your name at the end of each post" club!

I often sign my name when I'm giving advice or being serious (hence, rarely)
Yes, I agree that -non-insane newbies generally dissapear very quickly
and that as far as accepting rather than blocking, sus-rid is notorious (sp?) for that.
We rock.

Oh Buneater i hate it when people sob . It would help though if you started talking to the sugar bowl, its much better at listening. I am a bit of a Newbie and when I came here I thought Wow, I feel so at home, it certainly hasn't freaked me out. I shall try signing off: Raineth How was that?

It would help though if you started talking to the sugar bowl, its much better at listening. The sugar bowl, you say? Well, it's worth a shot. I don't know if it's still talking to me though - it grew very rude after I gave up having sugar in my tea.
