*does Puss in Boots eyes at KSL* C'n I have a pine tree too? Pleeeeeeeeease? Coz I always sign off in the way seen below...except when I do a typo in my name and end up like Laruen. Or Kayren. That happens sometimes when I have my fingers on the wrong keys... Anyway, I've noticed that ober.netters are rather competitive almost in an obsessive compulsive way, without even realising it. *pokes Buneater* See? You just had to take a better step further than everyone else with signing off and no-one blinks an eye! We all bounce off each other's competitiveness in a goodgoodgood way [begin sign off sequence] Cheerio, Lauren [sign off*ge complete] P.S. We also like polls. P.P.S. Who wants to vote on the person with the best sign off*ge to date? I vote Buneater...

LOL, I don't think the system likes my new sign "off-age" word...does that actually have a meaning I don't know about?? If so, my deepest apologies, but I'm slightly naive and confused about it... Cheerio, Lauren (who forgot her smiley last time, too. Bad llama!!)

Yes, bad llama...
And on a completely unrelated note, I was going to buy all the books for $20 each, and then today at my primary school fete I got Obernewtyn (2nd edition, I think) for $1.50!!! $18.50 cheaper than what i was prepared to pay!!! WOOO!!!!
Ahem.
Returning to the actual stuff we were talking about.

Hehe - I wasn't even trying to be competitive. Talisha - it's a transparent gif I made using a handwriting font and Paint Shop Pro. I could do you one if you wanted. You'd just need to pop it in your PhotoBucket account and either put the code in when you sign off or make it your actual signature. (IM me if you're interested. Otherwise, eat a small piece of carrot for no reason.) Huzzah for being part of Ober.net!

Has anyone else noticed that you can't type "Boo" at an obernetter witout them typing "Argh" back?
Either that or ya'll are patronising me!

Oh, I love my pine tree! Thank you Kayt. It's sitting in a corner of my room, blocking off the light from the window. One of the main things I noticed about OberNetter when I first joined, was how Excited! they're willing to be. Nobody else is as good at virtual jumping up and down. Buneater, that is indeed a cool sign-off. Unfortunately I don't actually own a copy of the Tough Guide - I look every time I go into a bookshop, but it's never yet shown up. But I currently have my library's copy, and I'm falling in love with it over again. She wrote The Dark Lord of Derkholm straight after, which kind of takes the concept one step further and makes it fiction, but somehow it doesn't have the same side-aching funniness to it. blindmouse Turncoats are people who change to the side of the DARK LORD in mid-Tour. This can happen to anyone except children, Gods and the TALENTED GIRL. Turncoats are particularly dangerous because they have no wreak of wrongness (official management term).- Diana Wynne Jones, Tough Guide to Fantasyland

i especially love the Ms.ka. it's very MBT OMG!! Arien just reminded me, I meant to tell you this earlier - I was driving down the coast the other day and I saw a little white van with the personalised plate: MBTI was laughing for about five minutes with my poor BF sitting next to me going 'um, what?' Apparently, MBT in this instance stood for 'Miama Beach Tavern' but we'll ignore that for now It's my vow to steal that van, and it shall be our bus to the Sending launch. and you thought I wasn't random ;D

Does my signature image count as signing off?? that's the only reason i haven't! What have I noticed about Obernewtyn.net? That the friendship value here is stronger than any other web community I've come across!! Some of us have been here for 5 years now!!! If it hadn't been for Obernewtyn.net, I would never have met one of my best friends Amie, and I wouldn't have the group of Brissy friends I have at the moment thanks to her. So the ties seem stronger...er, or something I've also noticed that the youngest members seem to be a load more educated than I was at their age Plus the excitable factor. Woo!!! Oh yeah, and that Kayt always comes up with really interesting observatory topics. Good 1 Kayt! Oh for the love of... Fine. Min
