Damn right I do - what the hell did we do before?
Now I'm like "What's this?" or "When was that?" or "What does that mean" and you jsut look it up! I must've been stumbling round not knowing anything with zillions of questions before the internet.
And Shadow: that's one damn good site! ;D

welcome to the Broadband At Home club Min. We're you on dial-up before?

The funny thing is that in Australia our version of ADSL is the slowest in the world (thanks to Telstra), speeds in other countries are twice as fast as our fastest speed (24Gigabytes per second). In the US their laying out fiberopics and get speeds over 50 to 100Gbps. so come to think of it 512/128 Mbps is not that fast really. One the other hand it fast enough for me... for now

It's only a matter of time...things can only get faster, cheaper and more readily available... except for petrol of course Yeap Dark One, I've been on dialup forever and a day. Still have my original modem that I had 6 years ago when I was still running a Win 95 box!! Am thinking about submitting the old dial-up modem to an antique shop. Oush I love my ADSL

It was very tedious...sometimes I had to repetitively pull out and re-put in the phone line. Sometimes I had to physically CALL my ISP's number (the one I was supposed to dial up), then plug my modem line back in and dial up. It was pretty random. I'm half tempted to throw it off a very high cliff somewhere but I feel strangely attached to the little creature for providing internet (albiet temporamentally) to me for the past 6 years.

Shadow: We have 512mb broadband in the UK too. Its the cheapest and that's what was on at home until recently. Just been given a free upgrade! Woot! Min: Glad you're finaly in the 21st Century I've only found one problem with broadband. If you use a router instead of the USB modem, the ISP occasionaly drops the connection and you have to restart the router. Most annoying!

The further you are from the nearest signal amplifier, the worse your signal will be
