for some reason, after i downloaded it, all my friends sometimes 'appear to be offline' but they're still tlking to me!

I thought there was something wrong with my hotmail account.. I can not sign in at all. I tried changing my password. Even messenger refuses to sign me in.

....All this happened around the same time I downloaded the new MSN messenger.

Good old yahoo won't let me down....

yep I blame the new 7.5 version. It's still stuffing around. If you wait and try at 5 minute intervals it'll eventually work. I hope it clears up soon!

If you get a message saying something along the lines of can not connect error 81000314

its not you or you comp its MSN they have been experiencing problems.
iv found that if you repeatedly try connect like click the button again the moment you get the message some times you can get in ..... but there is really no point cause no one ells is on.
its annoying but don't stress to much cause not much you can do about it

And i would also like to take a moment to warn people about the 7.5 BETA version of msn

BETA stands for a relatively untested version of MSN its not a completely secure version. This means that hackers and your every day tech type can use it to get into your computer and you are more likely to get nasties like Trojans and viruses other people are also able to log on as you with out your password so if you experience props is go back to 7 or 6.5 if it works. I am warning ppl mostly cause i had a 7.0 BETA and my computer was hit so badly i lost everything after they had used my account to do other stuff

I agree with courts BETA sucks, its for peopel who liek to think they are making a diff with the testign process (which they kinda are,, but not? if that makes sense) When somehtign is mass released in BETA tehy use it to see how stable it is on a numerous mounts of systems without having to actually build em so they can fix probs.. hence why its realeased to the public. Dont u think programmers could be stuffed actaually doign testing themselves?

I have to say it just to set it strait. The term BETA is only placed on a unstable yet working product only AFTER the long process of internal ALPHA testing (see there is always a frist heance the labels). Only very few programmers and designers make BETAs public for fear of priacy and ripping of the product. The MSN group are using the a public BETA to test it stabllity on random and less unrealiable computers that are not as costly or as top class as their own.

Think of it like this Alpha is the first letter of the old Greek alphabet and Beta is the second. These things always follow an order. Also unless you are willing for the MSN group to remotely 'access' your computers stats through Messenger 7.5 BETA don't download it.

MSN 7 beta worked fine. 7.5 seems buggy. At home it won't connect unless internet explorer is open first. Very strange!

My MSN hasnt been working for about a year. Signing into MSN Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 800b0001 Its soooo bloody annoying!! Grrr. *curses MSN* We've tried deleting every file of MSN off our computer, downloading it again, putting it on a disc from my sisters computer and installing it here, but nothing works!! So I think its our computer.

half of MSN Messenger's problem are based of IE6. It can't connect MSN Messenger never will if IE's proxy settings are wrong or it has a spasim and starts to hate you. Could always use a Web MSN Messenger at Offical MSN Messenger page or E-Messenger

i always found that if you dont alowe cookies the stupid thing never worked

My MSN works fine, it's the actual hotmail website I'm having trouble with! (NEVER buy a Dell!) We got our comp back (again!) and it was fine, mum installed some software (free trial versions) and now some pages I can't even get into! grrr

Microsoft is cool and all and i use it but Linux can do all the same things its just set up different and can be harder to use for first time users
i have Microsoft running inside Linux its confusing

Why? Dell make good machines! We thier desktops, laptops servers and switches at work. I will admit that thier home pc's aren't quite as good as the business ones

I have a dell laptop and it runs ten times better then my brothers HP. Your main problem maybe Spyware or Adware.

No the Windows emulators for linux I've tried don't do what I what (run my graphics programs). So i've never been to keen on Linux it good for a server and internet usage computer. If your going to be running and OS with another OS my reasoning is "why bother"
