Hey, Australia people - well, Melbourne at least - channel seven's playing Prometheus Unbound on Thurday 10:30. That's the one they missed (where they find Atlantis). Ah, good old SG1 back for one hour  *sigh* |

I...I can't believe it!
I take back what I said about C7 with apologies - they replayed SGA that got interrupted by the news coverage of the London attack, and are now playing an episode they missed due to spoilers. What I said was wrong and I'm very sorry. In a good way. We get to see the original Daniel/Vala episode!

I watched it twice ;D Well, not really, I just sort of sat there while me sister watched it after I had already watched it... Anyway, it wasn't that great - not enough Jack! *cries* I miss SG1  Was it just me or did the episode have absolutely nothing to do with finding Atlantis? ;D |

I think the point that was in order. I'm just pleased they showed it at all, so I'm not about to go biting hands.
It explained why the Prometheus didn't go to Atlantis mid season 1, who Vala was, and why Daniel isn't at the city of the Ancients. All important questions to the greater plot and more specifically (a) for the last of SGA s1, (b) start of SG-1 s9, and (c) ... well, anything concerning Daniel is important.
Funny and very cheesy so I liked it just fine.

Vala rocks my socks.
I think I've said it before, but why not say it again: Vala and Daniel carry the first few episodes of season 9 all by themselves. They're fantastic together in the sense that the characters and the actors just play off each other so well that their on-screen presence is an amazing sight to behold. I'm certain it was their arc that made Avalon 2 my favourite episode in the later seasons.
As for Vala herself, how can you hate her? Apart from that god-awful outfit she showed up in (which I'm sure Ms Black had no choice in), she's the greatest, snarkiest, unashamed manipulator the series has had in a long time and it makes getting Sam-as-stick back as completely anti-climatic if not a teeny bit disappointing.

who's watched Thursdays Atlantis and absolutely despises the new evil military guy with the annoying voice *shakes fist*. Someone please tell me he either 1) gets heaps better or (preferably) 2) dies. Soon. Hopefully before the Seige III ends Apart from that I liked the episode, Especially the Rodney/Radek/Carson stuff |

Very disappointed about season 2 Atlantis. Not a whole lot of interesting stories and when they are given the opportunity to do something even remotely original, they take the easy way out and ignore the real issue. Written words simply cannot express how I feel about this. Not even ones written at 2:46 am.

I love atlantis - though my views have probably been hugely impacted by some of the great fanfiction out there. Because of LorF I've actually started looking for stuff to read on the internet and I had no idea just how much fanfic for shows is out there. It's great - though I wish I'd found it over the holidays, I don't have time for an addiction at the moment :/
