Poor scruffy! Ober chats. The ones that occur once a month. There's nobody there! Again! Nor was there yesterday. Again, I have spent a whole hour talking... to nothing. No-one. Nobody. *cries* Why are they so unpopular?
Emi, not everyone likes live chats. Some of us cannot use the applet, some of us do not have the time. I'm sure this has been explained before. If you're that enthusiatic about it, maybe you can work to advertise it. Your sig is a great way to advertise this. If you want to chat more regularily, you could always get MSN, there are plenty of obers on MSN and some of them enjoy the large live chats.
now, onto a rant.
Death.
Pain.
Suffering.
Adobe reader should die a hideous horrible death and it shall be at my hands. Freeze my browser and make me lose all those articles i collected, I will hunt down your children and your children's children, may you and your kind never populate the earth again
angry doesn't even come near what i'm currently feeling about that stupid program.

I sympathise. Adobe Acrobat is not very popular. I hate PDF's! I don't see why everyone can't create documents in Word

Gah! Mac computers are bloody awful! 3 hours of work gone Yes, it was my fault that I forgot to save along the way but why do stupid macs freeze whenever you doubleclick using the vectorNTI program? And I always double-click at some stage, I'm so used to doing it with PCs *grumbles*

I assume you're using OS/9 or an earlier version of OSX? After OSX 10.4 they don't crash anymore

I know some Mac ppl like to use linux operating systems. a friend of mine uses one call Ubuntu. he thinks it's brilliant. i judge his judgement on things like that. he says it's very user friendly. he said that it's very good but you have to accept the principlies of ubuntu. ubuntu programs are open source and free. it's advertised as "linux for humans". he really loves it. he's told me a few times that he would love to show it to me. i'm in the south of the country and he's in the east so he hasn't yet.

I assume you're using OS/9 or an earlier version of OSX? After OSX 10.4 they don't crash anymore I don't have a clue All I know is that they were brand new in 2004. They're fine for all the other programs (even if I do sometimes get get frustrated with having the buttons in different places and a mouse with only one button) It just doesn't like the vector program, which ofcourse has only been added to the room full of Macs when it works much better on PC's (which there are plenty of in the library)

It's probably OS9 then. For the equivalent of about £70 you should be able to buy a copy of the latest OSX.
If you get a microsoft 2-button USB mouse, you can plug it in and use that

No probs. Tell your Uni IT Techs to upgrade your Mac software. They should get an educational discount from Apple

My computer hates LJ. This is very very annoying. It logs me out as soon as I'm logged in! And so I can't update. Or read the friend-locked entries on my friends page (No LorF! *cries*) It will log me in to comment, but if I click on another link, it logs me out again. Grrrrrr. And I know it's not LJ's fault, because I can log in fine on the school computers I think I need a new computer...

i had better keep that in mind. i call a LOT of things cute. ---congrats on the award too ;D anyway -this is a very trivial rant but anyway: i accidentially kicked a chair just now. i would have called it stubbing my toe but it was more like a kick. now my foot feels like it's about to drop off !!!! grr.

AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!!! Why can't people use PROPER grammar! I open a newpaper, and there it is! An hour! NOOOOO!!! IT IS WRONG!!!!! People?! Helloo? What's the rule about 'an'? Only if the next word starts with a vowel! Does hour start with a vowel? Is 'h' a vowel? I don't think so. It should be 'a hour'! I talk to my friends, what do they say? An hour. AN HOUR! A HOUR A HOUR AHOURAHOURAHOURAHOUR!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! DOESN'T THIS WORRY ANYBODY ELSE?! Am I the only one losing sleep over grammar? Do I belong in a mental insitution? And as for 'text talk'......Gah. Yeah, text messages cost money, and have a limited length. E-mails, on the other hand, are free, you hear me? Free and unlimited length! Y bther tlkn txt? What is the English language coming to?!

Ummm I think there are actually exceptions to that rule. Like the i before e one. Just say a hour. It doesn't sound right. And I think this word is an exception because in hour the h is almost silent. It's almost like saying our and I think that's why we say an instead of a.

I don't care. A hour is right, and I'm sticking to it. Nobody supports it, but I don't care.

actually im a bit like u with the h thing. i do say an hour tho. but with most 'silent h' stuff i say a rather than an.
