I hate this essay. I hate it with a vengence. I hate the fact this paragraph sucks, and I hate the fact I can't think of a way to make it stop sucking.
I also hate the fact I don't have enough time to get into a proper rant.

Poor Cat! Can you take a break from it for a while?
AF: Are you whinging about James-Hardie, by any chance. Don't get me started on them. "We won't pay if you don't give us the tax deduction". I can't believe they got away with that. What the court should have said is "Listen here, pal! If the court tells you to pay out compensation, you pay out compensation pretty darn pronto or we'll shove an assests seizure on you so fast, you won't have time to call your Swiss Banker!"
I bet they're just dragging it out, waiting for victims to die so they don't have to pay them. Does anyone know if thy're required to pay only living asbestos victims, or do they have to pay families too? If it's the former, I just bet that's why they're dragging it out.

It's a living victim. You have to be able to prove that you have mesothelioma, which is hard if you're already buried and didn't request and autopsy...

Well, big business in general, but yes James Hardie came to mind. They're so typical of large corporations; I know "profit before people" (and its opposite) have become cliches, but there's no other way to describe their behaviour.

I asked one of the other students to bring out any mail for me which has been delivered to my uni department and not sent to me here, as he was going back for a conference there. He emailed me back a detailed list of everything in my pigeonhole. WTF? I didn't ask him to go through my mail! That's just plain rude!

And what's a couple of knocked out teeth, compared to all the punch-ups, the broken bones, reconstructive surgery and BLOOD of footy? And please tell me, what is the aim of footy? Does the name Christopher Reeves and the word Tracheostomy ring a bell? He fell whilst riding a horse, injured his spinal cord, was paralised from the neck down and ended up on a ventilator with a trachy Horse riding can be very dangerous. |

What part of 'apart from falling off horses' did you not get? Besides, that was ONE incident. we are looking at a general view here. and I know horse hiding can be dangerous, but I prefer not to think about that aspect, especially considering I am a horse nut.

hmmm, I probably wouldnt want to think about it either. Footy isnt that dangerous though, it's just had some bad media. You can get the same types of injuries in many sports.

u know what I find more pointless than footy (from the little I've seen, anyway) ... Rugby!!! I mean, what the ...? A guy gets the ball, they all pounce on him, they all get off, he passes it to his teammate, everybody pounces on the teammate, everybody gets off, the teammate passes it to someone else ... Anyone notice a pattern?
