He's not much to look at, but I can't help putting Sam at the top of my list.
He's the kind of guy I'd like to have around if I was in trouble. He'd stand by you and love you through anything and everything - a real everyday hero.

I have to say that Gandalf is my favourite Character.
I read The Hobbit first, and was intriguied by him. Then i read LOTR and found out more.
After reading The Silmarillion, i found out a hell of a lot about his back story. Its a very difficult book to read, but well worth it to find out more information on the lands and people.

well you said character so i said Eowyn. she is one of the best characters in the books and movies. legolas is my favourite in the movie though. i love orlando!
