Argh! *frantically tips* But I'm 20 minutes late Edit: Not that it seems to matter I went for Hawthorn and Father Dearest has just informed me that Collingwood are 5/6 while the Hawks are a grand total of 1 point. Gah, and blah.

It just means that you get the away team for the one game that had started, and you tipped that anyway And Arien, I am definately going for Sydney on Sat night ;D I'm actually going to the game with a group of friends too, should be fun! We have Cat 1 tickets so we get all Crows and Port home games, never use the Port ones though. Thought it was about time we did GO YOU SWANNIES!!! And ofcourse, GO YOU CROWS!

I hate Collingwood, and I hate Anthony Rocca. He's such a thug.
Also, I've just remembered why I really do hate Collingwood; it was their supporters who chanted racist slogans at Nicky Winmar. I knew there was a reason I associate Collingwood with racism. Plus, some of their fans are the most viciously fanatic in the league. It's a game people, not life and death! Honestly, they spoil it for the rest of us.
The only positive I can take out of last night's match is that the Hawks were surprisingly accurate - they only kicked 2 points in the whole match, and these came in the first half!

They really improved in the second half, damn, I HATE to see Collingwood win a game. They're getting way too close to the top of the ladder

Oh cool ^_^ Have fun at the game Squirt! I hope we win
I don't mind most of the Collingwood players (except Chris Tarrant...for some reason I don't like him much)..but I have to agree their supporters can be total jerks. When they played West Coast Daniel Kerr took a really good mark and they all boo'd him, which isn't too nice. They REALLY hate their opponents- they can't just go 'oh they played well', it's like, if Collingwood lose, the opposing team gets bagged-out as much as possible, yelled abuse at and get rude gestures aimed at them. They kinda scare me
Eep, come on Adelaide!! You gotta beat the weagles

God my tips suck this week. I'm praying that I end up with 4. But Squirt, dear - the Crows have lost less times than the Hawks have won, so you can't really complain about losing to the Eagles on their home turf. Especially when the Eagles were probably annoyed with all the criticism of their recent performances. I predict I will lose the lead in the tipping comp, after all these rounds! Oh well, I'm probably lucky not to have lost it earlier.

The end of the season is getting close, so we're going to mix it up a little. Next week you have to tip the margin for EVERY SINGLE game Two points for every closest margin, if you get your tips in that is Congrats on winning the round Min

I'm becoming very tired of the pro-Victorian attitude of some commentators *glares at Triple M*; surely any person who loves the game would want to see the best team win, and not just Victorian teams? The way Triple M reported the last few minutes of the St Kilda vs West Coast game was disgraceful. Chris Judd whirled out of a pack and kicked a goal in the last minute, but you would have thought he was having a cup of tea with the Prime Minister from the commentator's tone. Admittedly, the game was long over, but that's no excuse.
If the AFL truly wants the game to be our national sport, then it should discourage this blatant bias in favour of Victorian teams. After all, Victorian teams contain players from other states, and vice-versa, so we should all just be one big happy family!

w00t, Go AF! I've been sick of that for ages. Whenever I listen to a sydney game on Triple M, they're just giving us a panning..and if we kick a goal they're like 'yah, mkay, Sydney kicked a goal, so..I'm going for a toilet break now' and if the opposing, Victorian team get a goal, it's like some kind of national celebration Not to mention last week they were saying how selfishly and terribly we played (not as terribly as the team we BEAT thankyou), yet the guys on tv were saying how well we played, and how team-orientated we were

It's always annoyed me too, but if you listen to SA broadcasts it's exactly the same. It's all GO SA! VIC's ARE EVIL etc etc.
What REALLY p!ssed me off about last weeks Sydney V Port TripleM broadcast was the fact that the SAian commentator (that's who you could have been listening to last week, Arien) didn't even know the names of the Swans players! An example of this... Imagine a Swans defender has just caught a pathetic kick forward by Port and they're running down the middle and on the way down the ground, the ball is passed along to three different Swans players, before they have a go at goal (I'm putting Port names anywhere, for all I know they may not have even played, my memory is shocking...
*Wow, that was a terrible kick by Cornes(sp?) and the Swans have taken an easy mark, he has plenty of options and is running down the centre of the field, oooh, he's kicked it to his left and Dew tries to intercept but misses and the Swans still have the ball! He (a different 'he' to the first one) looks around and kicks it off, not to Hall (they mentioned him every now and then because he was a Swan they knew), but to the man standing Ebert who quickly finds Halls lead, what a gun, and Hall should kick for goal from here!...*
They didnt know any Swans players other than the obvious Kennelly, Hall and Goodes. It was disgraceful! I forgot my glasses so I was relying on that broadcast and the commentators didn't even take the trouble to have the Swans names written down in front of them! Sometimes if the Swans had the ball for an extended period of time the commentators would just start chatting about some trivial, unrelated subject, it was driving me crazy! I know it was an SA telecast but not everyone was going for Port! Gah!
End of Rant.

Yeah, that's definately the one I was listening to. It's kind of important to know players' names when you're broadcasting on radio..not only that, but it was broadcast in other states too, not just SA! They should do their homework

A friend of mine is a total football fanatic, the other day when she was telling us about the game she went to see, she got so excited she was about three seconds away from crying at one point.

I've put the results up for last round but everyone check them because I did them really late and it was confusing working out who had the closest margin for every game. The numbers in the brackets next to each team you tipped are the amount of points you got for that tip.
loss : 0 points win without the closest margin: 1 point Win with closest margin: 3 points Win and tie for closest margin: 2 points loss with closest margin: 2 points (this only happened because no one tipped Carlton)
Make sense?
