Actually, I couldn't watch or even listen to the match at all! It seems that a little turd called Rupert Murdoch had bought up the rights to show the Adelaide/Hawks match, and as a result, none of the Melbourne radio stations were broadcasting it! I had to be satisfied with the occasional update whilst listening to St Kilda and Essendon! Fox Footy is destroying the game! Oh, and number 15 was Luke Hodge. He played very well, so there! The Melbourne press had a field day with the match, though. Despite the fact that it was the biggest winning margin of the week, they spent their articles praising Hawthorn and casting doubt upon Adelaide. Typical Victorian state pride!

Hehe, I never said he didnt play well, he played REALLY well, he just also made some of our players a little grumpy, hehe.
I love it, a team comes within ten goals of us and suddenly there's doubt over the Crows, lol. Hawthorn did play REALLY well for 2.5 quarters. Their defence was great! They almost seemed to be playing not to lose by too much, instead of playing to win though. It was a great, but frustrating game to watch. I'm surprised we won by as much as we did.
Hawthorn almost beat us earlier in the year too, they just seem to match up really well on us. Wait until we get some of our injured players back though... Do Hawthorn have many injuries at the moment?

DOUBLE POST ALERT Footy Tippers, * This round is the double point round. IF you get your tips in you will receive 2 points per win and four points for the closest winning margin. If you don't get your tips in it's one point for every away team win

Wait until we get some of our injured players back though... Do Hawthorn have many injuries at the moment? Yeah, I found the criticism of Adelaide a bit over-the-top. I mean, they still won by six goals! I've always wondered whether the better teams play with a little less effort when they play a bottom four team. For example, Adelaide knew they were more than likely to beat the Hawks. Maybe the tactic was just to keep within reach and then power away at the end? It would certainly save injuries that way, especially with the finals around the corner. I'm not accusing Adelaide of not trying, but I imagine there's always a time and place for prudent football. As an example, the Essendon vs West Coast match earlier on this year was evenly matched until the last quarter when West Coast seemed to put the foot on the pedal out of nowhere and won comfortably. The Hawks injury list is a minor nightmare, really. These players weren't available last weekend: Vandenberg, Clarke, Crawford, Guerra (suspended again, the twit), Jacobs (out for the season), Smith. And of course Everitt isn't exactly as fit as he used to be. All in all, I'm amazed our defence held out for as long as it did. Alastair Clarkson pointed out that our six defenders had played an average of 25 games!

Methinks last night's game in Adelaide was more of a party to celebrate Mark Riccutto's 300th game rather than an actual footy match! Does Squirt agree?

Totally agree, AF It was a fantastic match! The Kangaroos t tried to do a Richmond on us, silly peoples, like we wouldn't have learned our lesson from last time I loved almost every minute of it Hart was back from injury (he got just as many cheers as Roo), Bock was back from a really bad back injury and one of my all time favourites, Clarke came back for his first game in ages too And then there was Roo ;D He just had to lead for the ball and the whole crowd started Rooing, hehe. It was great! I'm very grateful to the Kangaroos, they, through their complete lack of skills managed to give Roo a 300th to remember

I know! How funny was that! They both finally had a chance for one of them to win a game and neither of them could manage it, hehe.

If Adelaide don't make it to the Grand Final I shall be very surprised. So it was probably a safe bet there! I shall hopefully have a part-time job by the end of August at the ABS, so I will be free on weekends again! YAY!

have to organise an ober and footy meet I'm planning on going to Melbourne then, no matter what. I love Melbourne during Grand Final week ;D No better place to be. Unless you were knocked out the week before ofcourse. I was in Melbourne last year for a conference during the GF and it absolutely sucked!

I wouldn't worry too much, Brisbane seem to be doing okay without him. After all, you're about to start a generational change ... those premiership players had to retire one day. It's a pity it had to happen like this though.
