Think very carefully ... ;D I was going to post this in the Members board, but seeing as it's quite nonsensical, what better place than in the Dining Hall! I posted a copy of this thread on another board a while ago and received some interesting results, so I'm curious as to what will happen here. For the record, I voted "Woof!"

Woof!!!
I'm a BIG dog person. But I don't like larger dogs. I only like small dogs. A border collie is about as big as I can bear them. Bigger than that, and I'm afraid of them.
But little dogs I just adore!!! *grugs them*
Not that I dislike cats. I just like dogs better.

I love both! I couldn't possibly choose. For me it all depends on the individual cat or dogs personality. Dogs are great for a walk and to muck around but cats are perfect for a cuddle.

Dogs are better for cuddling. A cat will only cuddle you when it wants too

My cat is always up for a cuddle! That's why i think it's really up to their personality. You've just obviously never met any really friendly cats

Cats are totally better for cuddling! When do dogs it on your lap? And you can't pick up a dog and carry it around!

It has to be cats!!!!!! I now have 4 cats. For those of you who remember a past rant of mine when i caught a stray and feral cat.... i caught 2 more stays, but they were dumped...so they are tame. We kept 1, had her 3 weeks now and just found a home for the other (5 cats is too much). So i have 4 cats.
I have 2 dogs... i love bigs dogs tho... german shepards are my fav. Little dogs are yappy and ankle biters... i know i will get shot down for those comments.
Cats just have the best personalities.... and i think the quote from "meet the parents" about cats and dogs sums up my opinions...
I-l just-- I just prefer dogs. I mean, I'm just more of a dog kind of, you know-- Come home, wagging their little tails, happy to see you kind of--
You need that assurance? You prefer an emotionally shallow animal? I-- You see, Greg, when you yell at a dog, his tail will go between his legs and cover his genitals, his ears will go down. A dog is very easy to break, but cats make you work for their affection. - They don't sell out the way dogs do. - Huh.
(hehe... just a bit of fun...)
Cats all the way!!!!!!

Are you even allergic to those dogs that have woollen hair instead of fur? My aunty is allergic and has a woollen dog and it's gorgeous and it doesn't loose hair etc.

I don't know too many people with dogs anyway...something to look into though! Thanks! ;D

OOooo. i found some cat quotes 15. Cats purr. Dogs drool. 14. Cats rub your leg when they want affection, not when they're horny. 13. Cats use a litter box. Dogs use your leg. 12. In 1997, over 10,000 US deaths were attributed to a dog owner's choking on saliva during morning wakeup licks. 11. Cats always land on their feet. Dogs just won't let you throw them. 10. Cats let you kick them when you're stressed out. 9. Cats will wait until you've read your morning paper before tearing it to shreds. 8. Cats look cute sleeping on the TV. Dogs just crash right in front of the screen. 7. Fewer cat owners suffer from 'Flappy Tail' lacerations than dog owners. 6. No one has ever had to "Beware of the Cat". 5. Cats bury their crap. Dogs dig up others'. 4. Cats have better things to do than stick their nose in your crotch. 3. Cats lay on the car in the heat. Dogs in heat lay the car. 2. Why do you think they call it, "Dog Breath?" 1. Garfield. Odie. Enough said.
and i thought this was just funny. What is a Cat? Cats do what they want. They rarely listen to you. They're totally unpredictable. They whine when they are not happy. When you want to play, they want to be alone. When you want to be alone, they want to play. They expect you to cater to their every whim. They're moody. They leave hair everywhere. They drive you nuts and cost an arm and a leg.
Conclusion: They're tiny women in little fur coats.

I've never had a dog or a cat, but I like Garfield more than Odie so based on that completely shallow reason, I've voting meow.

I'm for cats all the way... Dogs are annoying... And cats have all those quotes and sayings and general betterness about them.
"In Ancient Egypt, cats were revered as Gods. Cats have never forgotten this"
But i would have thought cats would be much further down than they are... Most of my friends are dog people. i have one friend who isn't, but she has a dog anyway.
