Hmm. Yes. So, um, anyway... *Attempts to steer convrsation back to cats and dogs* So, um, did anyone watch Rove last night? u know, he was talking about this exact same topic *feeble laugh* ... they all said they liked dogs better. Now isn't that interesting? hehehe, yes, very interesting...

I cant possibly choose!!!!
Ive owned both..
2 dogs and one cat!
Micky is the dog i have at the moment. 9yr old Dalmatian. Shes cute, silly, a ratbag of sorts. She cries and sooks and jumps and wags... she even smiles!!!! hhehehe....She is loyal, loving, easy going, loves to be patted fed and walks. She is cheeky, and knows when she is in trouble. She even sooks in her kennel when she knows she is going to the vet. She barks at lizards and possums, and loves everyone she meets.
Lucy was the name of my cat. She was a stray, but stuck around when we fed her. She was loyal, loving and happy. She made her presence known by jumping and clinging on to the front gauze door and meowing her head off. She loved coming inside, but dad has always been allergic to cats. She got very sick a few years ago and had to be put down, but she was always there to curl up and purr at me, to play with the piece of string i had in my pocket, or to just watch in the garden.
See i love them both! i couldnt possibly choose!! Im very defensive of Micky, and was of Lucy cos my nan tried to tell me my cat didnt deserve hugs because she was old and had skin cancer on her ears. i was so mad at my nan that i spent the next 3 hours hugging Lucy. I take care of Micky, clean her ears, and give her tablets and medicine.
I also volunteer at a dog shelter. so i guess im dog biased hehe!
But i wont vote:P

I posted this exact same poll on another site dominated by Australians - in this case, males (not a single female member), and dogs absolutely crushed the cats; the final percentages were something like 85-15 in favour of Woof! However, the vote is pretty much tied here, with a slight edge to dogs. So, from those two completely unscientific polls, my conclusion is that it seems we in Oz favour Woof! more than Meow!

Yes, but you're taking a lopsided study group. The majority of people on this forum are between the ages of say 12 and 25, which is a small percentage of the population. While you are getting a bit of a mix of male and female you're significantly lacking in age group representation. Where are the 30 - 100 year olds in this group? And trust me, they are a large proportion of the population especially with the Baby Boomers reaching 60+ So nah Cats can still make it! Cat

Besides, a cat lover doesn't need confirmation that CATS ARE BETTER. We just know they are.

Yeah, I meant that I know I want a dog and a cat, and as soon as I have a house (rather than be in a unit where I'm not allowed to have pets), I'm getting a dalmation and a bengal cat ;D
