Naturally, people perceive education in different ways, and there are definitely some subjects which are more grueling than others!
So, seeing as all us Obernetters are mad about the Obernewtyn Chronicles does this mean that a majority of us like English/literature above all other subjects?
Does each guild have a general dislike to a particular subject?
Do teachers have an influence on the enjoyability of a subject?

Lote is languages other than English I'm a tutor, and I find that most of my students need tuition when they really dislike the teacher....I think the teacher has a huge amount to do with your affinity for a subject

My health/PE teacher has the personality and teaching ability of wet cardboard. Sometimes, he's ok. He's like fresh out of uni and at the start of the year would barely look at our faces Cat

I haven't done P.E yet (next semester) but I did health this semester. Hated the class, disliked the teacher and found the subject rather boring.

Don't you do PE all year? We always have.
In year 7 we did Health for a semester and now again in year 10 we do health all year but we've always done PE all year.

You have to do a semester of health, then a semester of P.E instead or the other way round! (Bah!) You must do two semesters of health between year 8 and year 10, and at least one semester of P.E a year. Too bad if you don't like heath and P.E! Innykins

I have to do RE every year, including VCE (/HSC/A Levels/insert appropriate name for each place here) but it doesn't have to count towards our ENTER (/TER/whatever) score if you don't want to do it as a VCE subject. I just have to pass cause if I Fail then they won't let me graduate.

I miss out on half our RE lessons because I'm doing Maths Methods early. I hate SCIENCE though, it's so boring. I don't mind PE if we're doing something decent, which is most of the time. I hate playing footy, though.

lol I hate science! I just dropped Chemistry cause I hated it so much *sigh* we dont do RE at our school, being a public school, which I'm grateful for. I remember it in Primary School... I like pretty much every other subject there is though. I think a lot of us obernetters like or are good at english type subjects. Thats not to say that we're not good at maths and science either, but just in the same way that there are a lot of aspiring young writers here.

religion, eeeuuugh *throws all his religion books in the fire* omg lol!!! Me and my friends actually did this on leavers week after year 12. We made it into a big ritual and danced around the bonfire afterwards!!!
I went to a religious skool and we had to tolerate reams of religious classes plus attend mass once a week or get a detention
I was such a nerd though and loved all my other classes esp. english, in fact I did english and english literature for double the fun!! *ducks from thrown vegetables*
PE sucked bigtime, except for year 12 where you could choose your form of torture - guess who did meditation and yoga for the whole year? yay for working the system!!

I quite like science. It's grown on me like symbiotic fungi *dodges the rotten vegies being pelted*
Anyway, I agree with Rigel about the "alternative" sports, they're a lot more interesting. Especially since they result in 15 minute Taichi demonstrations to the uninitiated right in the middle of Flinders Street Station. =D Yoga was also popular at my friend's school, but I think that had more to do with who was teaching yoga [and what sort of tight-fitting fitness gear she'd be wearing while teaching] than any real interest for the discipline itself. As you can probably tell, it was an all boys school.
I hated PE. But RE in year 9 was similarly grueling, mainly because the teacher was heinous. "Okay girls, I know this is a course on world religions, but since I'm a fundamentalist, anally retentive. catholic crone, we'll just talk all lesson about how great MY religion is." ...well, maybe not in those words exactly.

I always hated science at school - I nearly had a heart attack when I saw Publishing is classed as an "Information Science" on my university application - thought I'd signed up for the wrong thing!
I didn't like maths either. I think subjects where thre is a right and wrong answer don't agree with me. I much prefer to ramble my way out of things using opinions and subjectivity rather than being told, 'no 2 + 2 doesnt equal 5 you fool'
