What's weird is that she's also publishing Obernewtyn in the US as well...so why aren't they demanding Sending? Billy Thunder was great though, I can't wait for the conclusion (huzzuh!! A series that has a conclusion!!)
Oh well, at least we know Sneding is set for 2006 now!

i think that billy thunder took off over there, and ober isnt as popular, so theyre wanting firecats dream over the sending it doesnt explain why the australian publishers arent getting a say though i am happy that shes publishing something this year, even if its not finally finishing a series (preferably ober if youre reading this.... )

Yeah I thought it was rather odd that US publishers can push Isobelle around stop being mean you demanding ppl, we've been waiting far longer than you!

There is an art to waiting. I have had much opportunity to work that out. I would like The Sneding to come soon. But it will come when it comes, and I shall use the time to practice patient waiting. after all what else can I do?

I know Raineth...it's just that why should the publishers be able to stomp their feet and demand a certain book first when we've been exuding patience for the past 7 years? Other than "because of the money"

Niether can I.*Jumps for joy!!* I read the winter door the other day.It was a bit different, but It was OK.In my opinion it was not as good as Billy Thunder and the night gate. I aslo read Angel Fever as well.I LOVED IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOmuch!!! I want a sequel(after sneding,of course). I neeeed the sneding.I am quite angry with miss Carmody.I finished The Keeping Place last year.I want sneding now!!!!! By the way,I can sort of wait for the next one in the Legendsong series.I love the books *sighs* but I dont think it's as good as her others.Oh well......

I was the opposite Kaylan, I thought Winter Door was so much better than Billy Thunder! Winter Door is one of my all time fave IC books (after Ober Chron & Legendsong). Billy Thunder...well, Rage was a bit too young to identify with for me By Winter Door, she's matured a lot.

my dear faithful readers
I have absolutely not forgotten The sneding... Nor am I blocked. I have been working on it for years as u know, and when I work on other things it is either because I need to think or get some space about something in The Sending. This year I will have three books come out. The Cat Dreamer which is smaller, Little Fur which is for me a book that has been a long time in the coming and one where I go out on a limb... but that is good for anyone, not just a writer. I also have a really big stand alone book coming out, which I have been working on for six years, called Alyzon Whitestarr. It is not that I let other books get in the way or get diverted, it is only that my life is a tapestry of book threads that weave in and about one another, so that I am never exactly sure when one will finish. But I am sure that I will finish The sneding by the end of his year. I have been in australia for a short tour, not quite two weeks, and I go home to do the final edit of Alyzon Whitestarr which will come out this year, which I have to deliver by mid april, and then the rest of the year will be devoted to The sneding.
But I hope any of u who are within a reasonable distance of melbourne will be able to come to the book launch of Little Fur on July 31 this year. I will post the addres of the launch closer to the date. Little Fur is a book aimed at younger kids, but its pretty special to me so I would love u all to share the day.
I am endlessly touched and motivated by your ffidelity!
warm good wishes isobelle carmody
ps I am afraid that I will not finish Darkbane until next year, but anyway the publishers would not bring it out in the same year as they bring out The Sending.
pps Also, as well as Little Fur, there is another book, A fox called sorrow, which will come out next year, and which, like Little Fur is smaller and is aready written...

Huzzah! Another launch! And I have been intrigued by Little Fur since it was first drawn to my attention... whenever that happened to be. In the past, I've been disappointed to have missed both the Billy Thunder and the Darksong launches (Darksong in particular), so I really hope I'll be able to make this one.
And thanks for telling us what you're working on and what's coming up. Although we're all impatient to read The Sending, we also know that it must be a hard book to write (for the reasons listed on the You Know You're Addicted... thread). So, we might sound pushy, but deep down, we understand completely. ;D

Darn, no way I could get to that launch (all savings toward Ashta's Sneding Lauch Trip) *sigh* I will be anxiously scourring the shelves of books shops for the latest books though.
*sighs* life is so expensive when you're nothing but a poor uni student. I think I'm hibbernating in the uni library because it's too cold at home (I refuse to waste money on heating!)
lol, I've been sitting on this computer for WAY too long!

Why oh why do i get hooked on unfinished series?
I always get withdrawl symptoms when i finish the last one, and have to wait ages for the next!
JK Rowling, Terry Pratchet, and now Isobelle Carmody!
Why do i do this to myself???

Dark One, just a suggestion, DON'T read Robert Jordan!! Seriously DON'T you'll screw yourself over.... i swear to god the guy is going to cark it before he finishes the damn series....it's a good thing i never started to read it cuz my sister warned me in time.....
And, hey, Terry Pratchett doesn't leave cliffhangers, his books can be read seperately, that's a good thing! That means he can keep writing about Vimes, and one brill thing about TP is that he doesn't massacre a character like Anne Bloody Rice..... I reallly have to get over that issue, really i should.... one of these days i'll be able to say her name and not think of twelve kinds of hell she should live in....
Am annoyed i wont be able to get to launch... wish she had put it off until i am actually going to be down there *sigh* oh well, win some, you loose some.... even tho i do tend to loose more than i win, prob'ly a good thing i don't gamble....
and now i think i'll stop rambling...

Robert Jordan? Sounds intriguing!
no, must resist.....
You're right. TP doesn't have cliff hangers, but you get so hooked on his characters that you really can't wait for the next book!

A library can't be called a library till it contains all of Pratchetts Work
Apart from the Discworld series, has anyone read the Johnny Maxwell trilogy, The Truckers trilogy, and Carpet People. Very interesting works!

I am endlessly touched and motivated by your ffidelity! Yay! Feeling pretty special now. Thanks IC for addressing our impatience! I first read Obernewtyn in 1993 so I've been waiting a long time! But it's good to know it will hopefully be finished by the end of this year. So exciting!
