Oh, another Quentaris book! No, I hadn't heard of it before. But, but... why is she writing Quentaris books when we're all dying for The Sending?

..and what on earth are Quentaris books? She's done Angel Fever and now Cat Dreamer... Could she be blocked on Sending...??

oh, dont even say it!!!
I wonder if she is blocked, I mean its been years since Obernewtyn came out, maybe shes just a little rusty, and has to get back into the feel of the Chronicles...

Did you see the release date, 2005? Now there is a smaller chance of The Sending or Darkbane coming out this year

Maybe she's worried that The Sending won't be the book we're hoping it will be (IC included). There's a lot of expectation hounding this book, which means a lot of pressure to get it exactly right. I guess it's like being at school and having a huge, important, incredibly crucial assignment to do that you're sure you're going to mess up. So intead, you do a whole lot of other assignments first - little things that don't matter so much - and you feel you've achieved something... but the big important assignment is still there and people are waiting to see it and judge you by it...
I know I'd be scared if I had to write The Sending. I might even feel a bit like Charles Dìckens, who was alleged to hate ending his books because it meant bidding farewell to all the characters he loved so much.
So I will just say - Isobelle, we have faith in you! We know you can write The Sending. Huzzah!

I think we should all write a version of The Sneding, vote for the best and petition for it to be published...will probably be the quickest way to get hold of a copy. Possibly the same with Darkbane.
Are the new books good btw? Anyone read them?
It's horrible really, because we all want the books as quickly as possibly, but we all want them to be the best possibly quality too. I'm guilty of complainaing about how long we've had to wait (see above!) but I'd much prefer it to take a bit longer and be a good book than it be rushed because of pressure (from us!). I understand what' you're saying, Buneater, about the grand promise of a spectacular ending, but I don't think we could be disappointed. The OC is IC's "baby" and we will all love/enjoy the way it ends, even if it's not what we were expecting/wanted.
I don't know whether the wait is maybe because it'll be too hard for IC to finish it, not because of the story, but because it has been an ongoing part of her life since high school. It's a big closure to make. It'll be the same for us. As IC wirtes the last few words and we read them there'll be a big feeling or "What now...?"

I agree, Lucy. Whatever Isobelle writes, we'll love. And there's always the promise of the prequels, so she' won't be bidding a final farewell to the entire world of Obernewtyn.
The only recent Carmody book I've read was Angel Fever and I didn't really like it that much. It was alright, but I think it was written to fit in with the other books of the Quentaris series, which might have affected how I perceived it. Or something.
Hehe - when we get to the "what now?" question, I think we'll just have to go back to Obernewtyn and start reading again... and again... and again... ;D
