*cries* i've only ever read the Ober series once... I've read Obernewtyn twice (cause I bought it) but I don't own the others and I've only read them the once when i got them out of the library at school in 2004. Which is why i do'nt go into theories, cause I can't remember who half the characters are...

Man, I was waiting for The Sending to come out my entire high school life. It was like how I figured that Harry Potter would be finished by the time I was in Year Eleven and then JKR didn't actually release OotP until Year Eleven. If I were IC right now, I wouldn't be rushing anything just to get the book out. I'd be taking my time, making sure every little bit was right, because honestly, it's got to be hard leaving behind a bunch of characters and a universe you've been writing about since you were fourteen. I mean, these books have been published over the span of my life - Obernewtyn was published the year I was born - and that's a long time to stretch something out. Honestly though, as a fan who's been wanting to read this book for going on six years now? I wish she'd hurry up a bit.

In times like these, I usually trundle out my "I've been waiting for The Sending since I first read Obernewtyn and Isobelle thought it was only going to be a trilogy" story.
But I'll just leave it at that instead.

Well, I know Obernewtyn and Farseekers inside out, and then kind of stop at Ashling in terms of re-reading. Perhaps I think it will renew the pain of not having The Sending if I get too close to the end of the Keeping Place. I reread the Legendsong books last week though.
So, what are these Quentaris doodahs I've been eharing so much about then?

Kindly follow this ~LINK~ to discover more, good Lucy. Basically, it's a series of books started by two Australian SF/Fantasy authors: Paul Collins and Michael Pryor. All of the stories are set in a city called "Quentaris" which sits beside a gateway to many other worlds. Isobelle has already written one book for the series called Angel Fever. And now she has written another. I've not read any of the other books in the series, although I may at some stage this year. I have no idea if they're available outside Australia.

Thank you for the link Buneater! Vey intersting - so kind of like fanfiction but for "real" authors!! I enjoyed the extracts on the website, but don't think I'd pursue reading the rest of stroies. Oh well.

some authors find it easier to work that way, others get a bit blocked on certain points and need some time to work through them. and other times the publishers are pushing them to get a certain piece out.

I've never red the Winter Door, only Billy Thunder and the Night Gate. It was cool, but It wasn't as cool as I.C'S other books. So I was a little dissapointed, but It was pretty good. So,anyone who can tell me where I can get that book - you'll win first place in my comp.

billy thunder was released in 2000, and the 2nd one was released in 2003. rumour is that shes working on the last one now cos the us publishers are bugging her about it, apparently its really big over there or something.
and yes the waiting is killing me too...
