I like the gymnastics the best. It's just incredible to see the sorts of things people can do. Absolutely mind-boggling. But I have to admit - I just haven't worked up any enthusiasm for these Olympics. It all happened too quickly. One minute, everything was going along as normal, the next we're suddenly at the Olympics! I'm afraid I'm probably going to be watching The Simpsons for the entire duration of the Olympics.

hehe, well, i've been watching the swimming and stuff! but i agree...just isn't the same as syd2000...
My fave events to watch are swimming, gymnastics, horseriding, most athletics, like long jump and stuff. don't mind watching the diving either!

I like the swimming, cos I love watching the Aussies kick butt! I was watching the mens gymnastics today, and I swear that some of those guys don't have spines! The floor routines especially, the human back should not be able to move like that! And this one guy......I think he was Russian......I swear that his hip was made of rubber! I was glued to the screen, simply because I could not believe how flexible this guys was!
I also like watching the show jumping and cross country, cos I love horses, but I usually watch what ever is on at the time, so I usually catch a bit of everything.

Olympics.... oh dear, I've seen just about every event so far. I'm working about 14 overnight shifts out of the 16 days of events.
My job is to run the Sydney-based Olympics desk for AAP (Australian Associated Press). We send out all the results, radio stories and medals tables for about 100 newspapers, most of the radio stations and the TV stations across Australia as well as all the major websites (ninemsn, smh, the age etc)
So I know way too much about the Olympics right now. I'm also not sleeping very well during the day and I feel kind of drunk on tiredness.
I'm generally not a huge sport fan but I enjoy the Olympics. I find it incredible the amount of training people go through for years and years for just one day at the Olympics. How do people do it? I'm very impressed.

Poor tired Roz! But at least you know all of the inside goss.
I've often wondered how they do it too. I'll never have that kind of motivation to train, it's just amazing.

i no! i love sport and watch it for the complete respect i have for those particepants! they're amazing - esp the training/work/effort and stress that they put into it! tho i think my fav outcome so far is the girl swimming relay!!!!!! GO THEM! its been ages since we've had some really good girl swimmers ...well ok not that long, but the men have sort of taken over! so i was sooooooo happy! and the diving was awsome too....i cant wait for the archery tho! :S another pet fav...now heres me for some 'bragging' u no, back in yr 5 (maybe4) when trainer ppl where goin round to schools looking for ppl to condition for the syd200 games... i was picked for swimming but i didnt want to leave home dam it would have been good but meh...to much work. would rather just watch and soak up the vibe!

My favourite sport ATM is Australian Idol, my fave event is the singoff on Sunday nights. ;D I thought I was the only one who wasn't watching it. Frankly I have no interest. Huzzuh for the people who've worked hard to get there, but Channel 7 just w@nks on too much. So I'm for the olympics, but against the commercialism? lol. Can anyone tell me if Roy & HG are doing their summaries late at night? I seem to have misplaced my tv guide What about the quality viewing we can look forward to for the entirity of the olympic telecast on the other networks - Police Academy Movies, Reruns of 80's neighbours, 5 hours of Simpsons (YAY!), etc. hehehe...bless Channel 10.
