Ok, so I'm a bit of a corny film junkie , and just wondered if anyone else out there shared my passion - or at least had one really bad film that they secretly watch with gleaming, adoring eyes when no one's around. The type of film my boyfriend rolls his eyes at when he sees and says he's going out - ring him when I'm done. (Tsk, some people don't appreciate the classics!) For me, they tend to be musicals; Calamity Jane, The Slipper and the Rose, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the like. There are also some classics such as Thunderbirds...whatever the film of that was (*not* the live action version!!) which have some comedy vaue. But some are just bad films that I like (usually because of the romantic value) like, oh I don't know, Die Hard or Armageddon (sp?), Practical Magic, or Zoolander, Waterworld...the list goes on (unfortunately). Just wondering if anyone else wishes to anme their secret (or not so secret) shame? If not, I'll just go find a dark spot to watch my corny films all alone... P.S Sorry if I've named anyone's favourite film above, or if this it a pants (and long winded!) thread, but it's 3am and I can't sleep and needed something to occupy me!

I wonder if someone will admit to liking Titanic in this thread? As far as I'm concerned, the only good bit was towards the end, where Ioan Gruffudd was in it for about five minutes.
Not that I get drooly about Ioan Gruffudd.
*surrpetitiously wipes drool away*
I liked The Phantom myself. Is that a bad thing?

Spaceballs is a masterpiece. How can people NOT like it? Spaceballs the Tshirts, Spaceballs the Underwear, Spaceballs the Toilet Paper. Ahh Spaceballs. My secret bad taste in movies is the romantic comedies.... I spend half my time bagging out everyone for watching them and then the moment I'm alone..... Mind you, not all romantic comedies but things like Notting Hill, Wedding Singer, My Best Friend's Wedding. I'm also a sucker for Costume Dramas. If people are wearing a period costume then TECHNICALLY I'm not really watching a soapie

Zoolander is another classic.
So's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Both are very quotable and surprisingly witty.

Being quotable... That reminds me... One of my all time favourite movies is 'Encino Man'. It stared Brendan Fraser, Seam Astin (sam for Lord of the rings) and pauly shore when they all first started movies... It's a classic for junkie 90's quotes...

Woohoo - Spaceballs! "My hair! The son of a b*tch shot my hair" Teehee, we know we'd all do the same girls. Another Mel Brookes film I like is Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
Yaay, I'm so like there are other people who like pants films like me! Thanks guys - I don't feel so silly anymore! ;D
(Although I can't say I'm one of the Titanic people - ruined)

Hmm, I think I like the Monty Python sketches more than the films...nudge nudge wink wink! (Can't beat Morcambe and Wise though).
Has anyone ever seen Mystery Science Theatre 3000? Or was it all jsut a figment of my imagination?

I've seen it too, Lucy, so you can consider yourself reasonably sane. I almost kill myself laughing every time I see one, though. There are some shocking movies out there...

Wow, I'm glad you all hat Titanic. I went to see it with three friends (one of whom had seen it three times already) and they all sobbed at the end. I was there going, 'thank god it's over... um guys, are you for real...?'.
Yeah, bad movies. I go for the romantic comedies, but I like to watch them - strictly by myself - when they're on TV. I'd be too embarrassed to be caught borrowing something like You've got Mail, but would watch it like a shot if it was on TV.
As far as TV series go I have a secret weakness for Sailor Moon. I have a theorie that it's easier to get addicted to something when you're stressed, and I started watching it during stu-vac when I was in first year uni. Haven't seen an episode in ages now, though...

OK, continueing my whine-fest from Spiderman:
Angsty Boy, Stupid Girl, Mediocre Bad Guy, and the poor slaughtered family member are four characters...yeah....it sucks.
Titanic was like Hollywood came and smacked you in the face with a toaster.
