So how old is Dragon in TKP, and how do you get that figure?
How old was she when she left LOTRQ and how long was she in the Beforetime City for?

hahaha I was waiting for somebody to start a specific thread... I think Dragon was 7 when she left TLORQ, was at the ruins for about 4 - 5 years and from the farseekers bit to TKP was 5 years therefore making her about 16 or 17 plus the way everyboby treatstalks about her she seems like a mature teen to young woman...  |

I'll have to say that I'm more the one to have a gut feeling bout things and I voted 16/17 in TKP just because I've just thought that was how old she should be at that time.

Wow, you all totally think she's older than I do... I thought that Elf and co discovered her when she was about 10 years old. She was a wild child, not a little lady. So that'd make her maximum of 14 in TKP. It's perfectly logical for a 13-14 year old to have a crush on Matthew But I really don't know. I'd say older than Lina / younger than Zarak & Aras. |

I reckon, I reckon, I reckon... hmmmm I reckon I lost my point! HA! ummmm... I got it - I reckon there has been about 5 -7 years between Farseekers and The keeping Place (BTW... Where was the Keeping place?) because I reckon it has been a 10yr+ span between the start of Obernewtyn till the end of TKP e.g. Elspeth was 12 when she got to obers and is now 22/23 Thats how I got 16/17 yr old for Dragon... |

How did you work out that timeline?
There's 2 years between end-Ober & start-Farseekers (it actually says it somewhere)
Then 1 year between end-Farseekers & start-Ashling
Then not even a year between end-Ashling & start-TKP.
So If Elspeth is say, 14 when we first meet her, she's about 18 / 19 in TKP?
It'd be a little creepy for "the good looking 19-year-old lad" ie Rushton to be plagued by a 12 year old. 14 is only SLIGHTLY more acceptable.

yeah. I thought Lina, Aras and Zarak were all about 16/17. And Dragon around the same age...
it's like someone said before. She might only seem young because she'd never learnt anything else since she'd been at the ruins...

I thought it was mentioned somewhere that lina and zarak were emotionally bonded as children and would bond formally as they grow up. Am i mad or am I right? just a general wondering since they were mentioned.

I don't know about that...I can't remember. There was something with Lina and Zarak - I think she used to entice him into her mischief...that she was a bad influence on Zarak in the Beastspeaking Guild so they moved him to the Farseekers (and also because he was stronger in Farseeking, and had only been put in Beastspeaking to be with his dad). Lina seems younger than 16 / 17 in Farseekers. She grows up a little by the end of TKP, but I'd say she'd be around the same age, if not younger than Dragon. I'd definately say 14 years old maximum at the end of TKP (for Lina). Zarak seems to be the same age as Aras, but just acts younger because males mature later in life (if at all ). Maybe 15 / 16 max at the end of TKP. I agree that maybe the youthful aspect of Dragon comes from her innocence of the world...but she is still described as a little girl in Farseekers. She is on the brink of womanhood in Ashling, which to me suggests she's hit puberty, and is somewhere around 12-13. Their society has a medieval-ish mentality...they think anyone who's over 12 is ready to be married off. |

I'd put her at about 13/14 in Ashling. It seems characteristic for a girl that young, no matter what her circumstance, to be experiencing a crush for the first time (i remember when i was that age *sigh* all boys and all crushes seemed like the world was on fire). So if TKP is about two years later ... then 15/16 at the end? is it two years? And we couldn't really establish how long the RQ has been gone from her land and how long the people have been waiting for her ... anyone asked Isobelle?
