Rilla i know what you mean. i am always being asked for drivers license when using a check from my mom or something. In aus. they kept asking for my drivers license anytime I got off the plane.

mwhahahaha im sure they can...the thing is dragon acts a bit all over the place...shes primative/child like and yet very mature/adult like on other occasions. its just so hard to pick. but i did think he was much younger then the rest...like the same age of hte 'new' obernewtyn ppl...like zarak, lina, aras...(who i am assuming are between 13-16 mark...) *shrugs* i dont no...im just stickin mit min, cos it makes sence in my mind!  ;D

Also if she appears to be older than she really is I think it is because she had to grow up pretty quick with no-one to look after her. But then when people started to look after her again...she sorta started to have her child hood again...including loving Matthew, learning manners, learning how to use her powers, etc.

Oh poor Timm! Blamed for everything! I wonder if the age we were when we first read the Obernewtyn books affected the ages we guessed the characters to be? I think most of us were about 13 or 14 when we first read the books. Well I think Elspeth was 14 in the first book and about 16 in the second book - when she first met dragon. If Dragon was about 10, that makes a six year age gap. I've heard it guessed that Elf is probably about 19 or 20 in The Keeping Place. So that would make Dragon 13 or 13. Anyway, I know IC's been asked these sorts of questions and she says she doesn't deliberately state the age of some of the characters coz they've been forced to grow up faster than we do so the age wouldn't be a true reflection of their maturity. |
