I ended up going to bed at 5am with a few pages left. I had to get up again at 8am and spent most of yesterday feeling in a strange world of my own. Completely rested now, and finishing off the translation! Congratulations Firefox!!! You did it! Throws confetti and balloons in the air and opens a pale! Any excuse for a party!!! Now, the reason for this post... For the last few weeks the weather here has been unbearable (even with my magical fan It's been 40+ degrees and humid and hasn't been much cooler over night, but now that I'm at the beach, only metres away from the sand, loaded up with suncream, towels and a hat... I was so excited! and now the weather has turned horrible! It's been raining and it's cold and windy, why is the weather so horrible! I want to go swimming! Waaaaaah! I even have an airconditioner here... not that I need it!

well you could dont you dig a hole in the ground and let the water fill it up. Yeah...it would be a bit muddy, but when the rain stops you'll have your own swimming pool lol
*hugs anyway*
The weather is very mean and should be grounded!

Rant: I'm very moody and tired today. I'm going to Canberra for 3 days on Sunday for a program called Talkback Classroom, where I go into a team with 2 other teenagers. We stay in contact over the net after the workshop, and then in a few motnhs' time we go back to Canberra and interview a politician at the National Museum. it's in front of an audience of studentsa and is broadcasted on ABC radio.

Coffee would be my friend, Min, if I drank it! And thanks, Squirt ... my party came later on in the week - all the boxes arrived on Thursday! Ah! Who's the politician? Humiliate them! Ask awkward questions about refugees (do you support locking up children? No? Why do you support the government's refugee policy?), the Tampa, the Iraq War, the AWB scandal ... if they're Labor, you can ask them why we don't have a functioning opposition party in this country. Of course, you probably won't be allowed to do any of this ... My mini-rant today is a annoyed reaction to something a presenter just said on So Fresh. It appears that Alex of Franz Ferdinand liked Sydney so much he's considering moving there. Presenter: maybe we can call Franz Ferdinand an Australian band now! WHAT THE HELL? They're a Scottish band, dammit, and just because ONE of the FOUR members MIGHT move over here doesn't change that. I'm quite sure Alex will not be dropping his British nationality and becoming Australian. End Rant.

I hate it when the media do that! When Kim Clijsters (sp?) was playing in the Aus Open 'The Advertiser' called her Australian (Don't even get me started on the Advertiser!), just because she was once engaged to Hewitt they're claiming that she is Australian! She doesn't live here, she rarely plays here and she competes for a different country. She's from Belgium, she isn't even engaged to him anymore!

By the same logic, any Australian who goes to live overseas is no longer Australian! It's kinda sad, though, because it makes it seem as though there aren't any Australians worth talking about. In tennis: Samantha Stosur? In music: The Whitlams? There's plenty; we don't need the whole world moving to Australia, we'll overpopulate! ;D

Yeah, I don't like that logic at all.. Hugh Jackman is and always will be Australian!
I guess I kinda like the fact that Ben Folds is in Adelaide though, he's moved here and married an Adelaidian, I'd call him almost Aussie!

AAARRGGH I really really really dont like our orchestra conducter.... Our orchestra and choir is going to America on tour later this year, so i have to do 1 1/2 hrs that, join choir and do 2hrs of that, and take up singing lessons once a week, about 10hrs one Sunday a month and all Monday public holidays AND SHE WONT GIVE ME 15MINS!
All i want is to leave orchestra 15mins early to get to hockey training 20 mins late! (which is only once a week) and hockey training only goes for an hour. Its not like I'm bad at the cello and need extra help, and by the time theres only 15mins to go, everyone plays "like cactus" as my cello teacher says (she agrees with me at least) So boo to you Miss Herron, I'm leaving anyway

Rant: LIFE IS REALLY SH!T!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this morning, a really good friend of mine had her horse put down. last night he had colic. at this stage i dont know what it was caused by but it was extraordinarily severe and there was nothing the vet could do but end the suffering by putting him to sleep.
however, my friend's suffering continues and i feel so so bad which means she can only be feeling worse. i know all i can do is be there for her and love, support and listen to her but i still feel so useless, i just want to be able to fix it for her.
this horse was like a family member to her, she loved him so dearly, and will miss him twice as much.
could every one, regaurdless of your faith, please send positive thoughts and love to everyone who is suffering and in pain to help everyone and my friend get through a tough time.

Argh! My sister can't swim and after being told not to, she jumped into the water at the beach today. As she can't swim I was forced to run into the water. I was wearing jeans and a jumper (not exactly a beach outfit) and it wasn't until after I slipped on a rock, twisted my ankle, pulled her from the water and dragged her up to the beach that I realised my phone (with all my phone numbers, addresses, and work rosters etc) was in my pocket. My sister was laughing hysterically the whole time! So now I'm sitting here with a sore foot and a broken phone (which I can't afford to replace) and I can still hear her laughing in the background, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I want my phone back! Waaaaaaaaaaaah!

Well done for pulling her out!
Was the phone on at the time? You may be able to turn it off, remove the battery, sim card (if it has one) and any removable covers and leave it to dry for a few days. You should then be able to turn it on without it shorting out anything. This is not gauranteed to work though

Awww, Squirt! So sorry to hear about your swim! THat majorly sucks. I hope what Dark One has suggested works and your phone can be switched back on without any damage. If not, work out a payment plan with your sister so that she can buy you a new one. I know it won't get your numbers and rosters back, but it's a start!!

I'll try drying it out, thanks. Unfortunately my sister is unable to pay anything for it and never will. I should have insured it, my fault really. I guess I can look at the positives, I pulled her out and I guess if I'd left her lying at the bottom of the ocean just to save my phone I'd feel a lot worse!

instead of copying my rant into here, I'll just link you all to it. Oh and Neisha, if you get to interview Gary Hardgrave ask him why he feels the need to insult voters intelligence when they complain to him. PLEASE!!! and now so you all know what I'm on about talmina.livejournal.com/24573.html WARNING: I do get a little carried away on the language but I tried to keep it to a minimum

Rant: Do you ever feel 'over-protected'? Like it gets annoying that someone is always there? I do! There is this boy in year 12 and his name is Channa...he's asian.....and he likes me. But I don't like him that way and he's ALWAYS around me. I mean, he doesn't have many other friends and I would hate that if I was him, but he gets so sticky! He always texts me when I'm walking home from school telling me that he's bored. I mean, couldn't he tell me that tomorrow at school? And I know that its his last year at school and he likes to stick by hid friends but he's EVERYWHERE!
Help/Advice?

Do you like him as a friend, or do you not really like him at all?
If you only like him as a friend then you have to tell him that. He may feel a bit hurt, but its best to tell him

i only like him as a friend....i like this other boy
I mean....he's 18 and i don't date 18 year olds. Even though he's really nice and all he's just not right for me.
But I dread telling him that I don't like him the way he likes me. *stamps foot* Its soooooo frustrating

ok then,
if Channa's your friend, then treat him like one: tell him all about this other guy your into, like, tell him everything! ask him "do you think he would ever go out with me?" etc....
if you think he wont get the hint from that.........
make up some imagineary girl lets say.....Leannne or somethng. (from another school usually works best) and do the same thing. just go on and on.....
then hopefully (see, its not ALL lies...) this will make him see how you feel about him or maybe it'll make him at least see that your not really available to him.
