Very right! What has happened to all the Rushton supporters? Do you think they've finally seen the light...

So you admit that the Dames supporters are in the light whereas the Rushton supporters are merely flailing around in the dark?

Ha! Progress is being made. Rushton supporters are finally admitting to being in the dark Perhaps we're finally getting through to them. In case we haven't made ourselves clear enough though...[glow=green,2,300][/glow] [glow=yellow,2,300][/glow] [glow=red,2,300][/glow]

Oh no, Dameon is the light. Perhaps you are seeing some of his light reflected on Rushton... Anyway, you do have to admit Rushton is overprotective, jealous and moody. Is that what Elf needs? I think not.

Oh, he can change! (Yes, I do realise what I just said) But hey, he's a fictional character *gasp!* he can do whatever Isobelle wants him to do, and I believe she'll make him perfect in the next book heh heh heh

Perfect? Dameon is already perfect! Why should Elf wait around because Rushton may-possibly-eventually-one-day become perfect, when Dameon is already perfect, and just waiting for her to realise her love for him!

Rushton ?? A ladies man ??! I have nothing against sour, moody people, I know many of them, but I think that he is wrong for Elf because she can be sour and moody too. I think she would be best with someone sweet and caring, to balance her personality. Who is more sweet and caring? Rushton or Dameon? As for the poll, just because the majority says something doesn't make it right!

I see and know what you mean, good gypsywanderer - and I totally agree with the 'balancing Elf's personality' prospect. But I just think that Rush and Elf make a great couple! I'm not saying that I'm dissing Dames - I'm totally not! I love his and Elf's passionate moments, but I just like Rushton better. Dunno why, I just do.

Rushton is just such a more compelling character then Dameon. And because of Dameon't blindess, I've always had a feeling of pity for him.

I've never really pitied him, mainly because I don't really find him a pitiable character. I'm not saying I wouldn't feel sorry for anyone who was blind, but Dameon never seems to feel sorry for himself, or even take it as a disbility, so I've never really considered pitying him.
I don't find Rushton that compelling. If anything, I find him irritaring. He has always had that effect on me, ever since I first started reading.

Yep I'm the same - something about Rushton just rubs me the wrong way. and unless it's being specifically mentioned I never really think of Dames as being blind, there is much more to him then his blindness

Yeah, I agree. I have never liked Rushton, he's always been so moody. I don't have anything against people who are moody generally, but he was always a sour and irritating character for me. I always liked Dames, although it wasn't until I started posting on this site I figured out he loved Elf (I was being a bit dense!)

Yeah, i never realised it either, but suppose 'realise' isn't the right word, because we can't be sure, can we? I always Rushton and Elf were just one of those couples in books that are 'meant to be' and nobody contradicts it. But now I guess they are still 'meant to be', only people like to hope otherwise. How can you not find Rushton compelling? I find him able to be romantiscised over more easily ... I mean, green eyes! And I love the bit at the end of Ashling where Elf finally stops being thick and realises she loves him

I just don't find him compelling, probably because he has always irritated me. I find the most compelling guy Swallow, who has the whole 'mysterious gypsy' thing going for him. Anyway, I am firmly against the idea of Elf and Rushton as a 'meant to be' couple. Dameon and Elf were always 'meant to be', I just didn't realise it till recently! She loves him, she just hasn't figured it out yet
