Well i'm here, the soppiest romantic around, and such a big obernewtyn fan, and such a Dameon fan, he is a sweet lovely boy who became a man, wish an endless capacity to love, actually finding the right girl, who could return it in equal proportions will be difficult-elspeth just isn't the one.
And how can u people look past the charm of Rushton, the man is an animal lover for pete's sake, how could u not love it, and he risked everything to help Elspeth, he was that spellbound!
What i dont understand about this age old argument (which only rearded its head about 2months ago, right) is why dont the Dameon supports love rushton???
seriously why? IC has obviously tried to make him a compelling love interest, the green eyes, he's tall dark and handsome, a hero, a thinker, an ideas man!
Dameon, is wonderful too, i can regocnise that, but i aknowledge his place in the OC world, as the wonderous best friend, an ally who councils rushton on his love life.

rushton can't help being so called possesive! he loves her! its just how it works, when he has come to close to losing her sooo many times and took so long to be with her, he doesnt want to lose her again!

Well..don't hate Rushton...just think Dameon's better for her. I'm going to do my best to turn some of you here...what do you think will happen to dear Dameon, in the end? He did everything right by Elspeth – was a great friend to her, a confidant, was there for her when she actually expressed emotion, and always puts others above himself.
Why did Elspeth choose Rushton? Their relationship confuses me. It seems to confuse the both of them more. They kind of love each other, but are jealous or threatened by each other, etc.
Could Rushton’s feelings have been unwittingly encouraged by Dameon’s love for Elspeth? His emotions, unguarded around Rushton, could have imprinted on Rushton’s mind – both parties none the wiser.
Or does the surly overseer really love her? Has he changed from wanting to cage her, like he did in Farseekers? Will he love her enough to let her go?
Poor old Dameon though…he’s needed by so many, but who can he need? Where did he turn when he was upset about Elspeth? Or did he accept the fact that despite his and Elspeth’s friendship, Rushton would for some unknowing reason always beat him? Will Dameon ever reveal the truth? Could he be wallowing – torturing himself internally while not causing ripples on the surface? Or (more likely, given Dameon’s strength) is he so strong that he can take her complete overlooking of his love smiling and move on? Ok, I’ll stop now…<br>
I can't speak for the other Dameon supporters...but I'm on his side here because it doesn't seem fair (and it happened to me! The overlooking of love doesn't bode well for any of us, it totally broke me!)! Elspeth does love Dameon - she values him and his presence so much, we see that in TKP!
Sorry, I said I was stopping, didn't I?! lol

This is why Dameon deserves Elf:
Because he is happy for her to be with Rushton. He loves her so much that if that's what she wants, he's happy. His love for her doesn't make him want to posess her like Rushton does. It just makes him want to see (figuratively of course) her smiling! It would absolutely make his day if she was happy because she loves him, but as long as she's happy, he's happy.
That's REAL love! That's how it SHOULD be!
And I will accept no jealous, clingy substitues for Elf.
