If the story wasn't first person, I don't think Elf would EVER find out. But to reveal it to the reader, she has to figure it out somehow, poor, oblivious little sausage that she is!
I don't know about the friendship. I hope things don't get weird, 'cos it's a beautiful friendship!

Grrr...Rushton has the looks but not the brains!! I would prefer have an amazing emotional relationship with someone as feeling as Dameon than a relationship based purely on sex appeal. (I wonder what the sensor will turn that into?) Because in the end they'll get bored with each other and realise they have nothing in common. Dameon's blindness...I don't know how I'd cope with a blind friend so I'm not able to comment. I'd hope it wouldn't be an issue, but it'd be frustrating, in that you want to share a sunset with someone, and words can't describe it... I suppose he has the high emotive level to compensate though  I can totally tell you now though - Dameon would help Elspeth overcome her demons. I think Dameon will be the one who helps Elspeth keep control in the end - maybe allow his empathy to make her more confident when she has to make a decision - but in the process, will reveal his feelings for her. How do you think Elspeth would react if she knew? Would it just weird out the friendship? i'm almost convinced enuff to vote for him now |

i'm almost convinced enuff to vote for him now so if min convinced you to jump off the side of cliff you would huh?! If you listen to all arguements you'll end up a lost nutter cause everybody does have good points... But i believe you should choose your guns and stick to them... no point in sitting on the fence!   |

well u see i could go for dames too, but rushton doesnt have jsut sex apeal! (and that wasnt sencored! these ones are weird min!) dames would b too nice for me. i can never see someone gettin upset/angry or anythin but feelin 'awwwww' to him. and that would really bug me. cos i am a little biatch at times so i need the bite. but thats jsut me. dames would b my soulmate, jsut not my mate.

yes I am seroius.
Every person has different things and strengths that make them who they are. I don't think that Rushton and Dameon are similar so it would be hard to really compare, but I love Dameon, don't get me wrong, I just prefer Rushton's personality all round, so it would make me think he is a better person.
What makes you think that Dameon is the clear winner? He is kind and caring towards peoples feelings and everything, but Rushton has also given up so much, worked so hard for the MIsfits, even though he has always felt like an outcast from them, not truly have Talent.

I admit, Rushton is a hard working, generous guy.
But so is Dameon.
Rushton has many flaws, like irritability, rudeness, angstyness and jealousness which Dameon does NOT possess.
I admit that Dameon might not be some people's cup of tea, but surely ya'll can see that he is a much nicer guy.
But you're right. They are such different people, it's kinda hard to compare!!!

nope, i just find Rushton way more appealing. He's never seemed annoying to me...i see him as someone who works hard and fights for what he wants. Dameon's so passive that he lets almost everything he really desires slip away! ie: ELSPETH.

I guess it's just a matter of taste, because I find Rushton's determination irritating.
This is an issue upon which there will never be agreement.
But (prepare for a major revelation):
I am prepared to admit that Rushton and Elf will probably stay together and that Damo and Elf will never be.
It breaks my heart, but so it is.
Dameon deserves her more, but Rushton will get the girl
