In which Kayt throws some lavish praise about...

Greetings all Obernetters.
This fine Friday morning, while performing my daily toilette, (ie shaving), I got to thinking about Obernetters, and my conclusions led me to decided I needed to throw some lavish praise at a few people.

First of all, I came to this conclusion when it occured to me that Fiery Dragon is 11 years old. Now, I knew that, but what suddenly occured to me just now is exactly how old 11 is. Not very.
Some of you may know, or may not, that my job is to mentor teenagers, but also younger kids. And it occured to me this morning that some of my kids are 11 years old.

Fiery Dragon absolutely kicks their Pants!!! First of all, it is refreshing to see an 11 year old who can write a story which contains:
*No zombies
*No decapitations
*No ninjas
*No plagarism
Seriously, I would love to take her into one of my groups and say "LOOK, she's younger than some of you, and she can come up with lots of non-violent content!"
Also, Fiery Dragon's sentence structure wipes my kids off the table. And she is capable of taking partin an intelligent conversation, if she wants to. And she reads sophisticated, complex books like Obernewtyn, and understands them on multiple levels.

To conclude: Yay Fiery Dragon!!!

Now, having said that, I would also like to put in a good word for our thirteen (and fourteen) year old members. You all rock! You are all able to hold an intelligent conversation, you all understand books like Obernewtyn and what their about. You get what they mean. There isn't one of you who I don't respect and admire.
And I know at least three of you can write.

As this is a thread for praising specific people, however, I decided to choose two of you for lavishly praising.

Firstly, Elspethseeker: She has a grasp of political issues which seems to be beyond the average voter in her country. I would be able to have a political debate with Elfseeker and get more common sense out of her than I would out of most people my own age, or older. I have a bunch of respect for Elfseeker!

Go Elspethseeker.

Brydie: I respect and admire Brydie, and sometimes I am envious of her as a writer. When I was thirteen, I could not write as well as Brydie does. Occasionally, she may post up little snippets that she wrote in ten minutes. These are always well structured, and naturally flowing. Brydie's screenplay's always impress me. She is able to get to the heart of what a book is about and really understand the themes. I think she has natural writing talent.

Now, I have many others to lavishly praise, but time is scarce, so...

Elixa:
Things aren't always easy for Lix. I know how difficult it can be to get through sometimes, but she does anyway. Sometimes she comes here and tells us things are getting bad, or she's feeling down, but she always comes back again, and we know that she's still fighting. She's able to stay at Uni, and keep at work and keep moving. I know how hard that is, so I just want to take this opportunity to say that Lix is a wonderful person, who is doing her absolute best to keep moving, and I really respect her for that.

Huzzah for the strong, fighty Elixa!

Miska:
Miska is awesome! She cares about everyone, she always wants everyone to be happy, and she is usually so happy that she spreads that around. No matter what happens, Miska is always read with a hug, either virtual or real, and she supports everyone at Obernet, both as a mother hen and a friend.

Go the cheery, supportive Miska!

Speaking of supportive:

I now wish to lavish praise upon Buneater.
She is always supportive of everyone. She is interested in everyone's problems, and gives plenty of wisdom and advice. Also, she is always ready to give naughty non-writing Kayt a good poking. Also, Buneater is immensely hilarious and talented, for which I resent her muchly!!!

Well... that's enough lavish praise from me, although I'm not done yet. If you would care to lavish praise upon anyone, then go nuts. Everyone here kicks donkey, and there's not one person I couldn't say a million wonderful things about.
If any of you is ever arrested and you need a character witness to come to you trial, call me. I'll come tell the jury that you're great, and an asset to society, and they'll have to let you off, because you all deserve it.

kayt! u make me blush! thank u so kindly! but my main point is: i want to COMPLETLEY agree with u! everyone on here has become my standard refference...i was jsut speaking with squarmi the other day and i notice how every single word that comes out of my mouth is but obernet ppl arnet liek that...

u youngens - its truely amazing! the level of intelect and comprehension on all topics disuced on the boards is brilliant and u all never fail to impress. usually u make me feel like the nieve 13yr old who has no clue on world events or anything. i too want to join kayt (wether this was the point of it or not) in cheering everyone here! ur a special infectious bunch! that always makes the worries in the world dissapear! HUZZAH FOR U ALL!

i too want ot add kayt and min to the mother hen group with buneater! ur always there showing ur strengths and supporting hand when ever anyone asks! and u two are constant reminders (like lix) of amazing ppl who will do WHAT thye want and not be fased by wat is put in frount of u. i no some mite think thats jsut in refernece to the thread in the members area...but its not really...ive met u both and ur just insipring! no matter what the level of difficulty the task given to u is u do it with a smile and show nothing of its demand on u!

that was unexpected! thankyou very muchly!
i have some thankyous of my own -
obviously, for starters brownie, and for obvious reasons - she is a lifesaver, and i would have failed a million exams and as.signments if it wasnt for her. but i also love the way she is so friendly and easy to talk to about anything - and i mean ANYTHING!
next, Roz. one day, sitting down at my terrible computer, i look up and i have a new message! wow! no one sends me messages! but it turned out that she was congratulating me for a piece of writing i submitted in the writing comp, and what she said was really lovely, and oi felt i hardly deserved it. she is so sweet and always thinking of others.
next, the male community. you put up with us girls, you always have something great to say, and i love the way you all take everything we hurl at you. i particularly admire the way omegadefender says the most gorgeous things - exactly what needs to be said in the sweetest way. YAY for the guys!!!
next, min. i think we all know why min is one of the most wonderful members of obernet. LOTS AND LOTS OF CHOCCY FOR MIN!!
next, and last for now (because the bell is about to ring) Kayt. your strength, your amazing personality,you dtermination, your fantastic writing, are purely inspirational. only you would have thought of a thread like this - quite simply, you are absolutely amazing.

i also wanted to mention about miska - i love the way she always wants to make people happy. and she does. i love the way she's so energetic and just plain happy.
and kayt, the last thing i said about you didnt seem to make any sense (well it didn't to me, anyway) so i'll rephrase it - in creating this thread, you've proved what ive always thought all along, every since i met you. you're a gracious, lovely person who can't seem to get enough of encouraging people and telling them that whatever their thingyhead brothers think of them, she will always stand by you no matter what.

these are the other people i wanted to mention before but didn't get time to -
all the SusRidders. again, for obvious reasons. i dont post at all, but whenever i'm in a bad mood i visit and end up rolling on the floor laughing my head off. you're all crazy.

Wanderer - you're intelligent, you're good at getting on people's nerves, and you often have really interesting and different opinions and points of view about things. i loved the way you stirred things up on the movie thread. ok, so i get a kick out of other people's arguements, but OH WELL!!

Blindmouse - you're an incredible writer, and i really look up to you and admire you. your stories are amazingly well written and always so imaginative. that goes for all the other writers at obernet as well.

I love coming to Ober.net. There are some fantastic and lovely people here - it's always a pleasure to linger on the messageboards and join in conversations... and throw a frozen pea or two.

You should all be proud of yourselves. You're polite to each other, welcoming of newcomers and all-round decent people. And that's nothing to be sneezed at! In this internettish world, too many people think it's OK to be rude, to swear and to treat people with contempt. That doesn't happen here and I'm very proud of that fact. We're so dàmn fantastic!

I, like Brydie, would like to thank all the people who get my a$signments in on time, and readable. I have come to the conclusion that my mind DOES NOT WORK late at night the day before. In fact, just late at night when I'm stressing. I write sentences and then in the morning when I'm reading them I'm like "Oh God... I can't hand this up, it makes less sense than The Idiot's Guide to Windows ME being so long!!"

But, the good thing is, Eth comes to rescue one time, and then another Miska does!! YAY!!! GO ETH AND MISKA!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

And I don't just like them cause they help me, they help everyone and they're such cool people! You're all such cool people!! And I would go into more detail, but I'm getting called from the kitchen...
