Probably because we're all going: "LiveJournal is alive again!" and breaking antique clocks and then trying to log in all at once. But we miss our LJ so... I want tuna. According to the status report, they "don't expect any major data loss" and if there is anything missing, they can retrieve it from old backups. I just want to get back in! |

We're back at it. We'll have the site up soon in some sort of crippled state while the clusters with the oldest backups continue to catch up.
That's something, anyway. Poor, stressed people. Can they have some of your birthday cake, Brydie?

strangely enough this isnt as bad as hotmail being down, though thats been going on almost a month now. and then i can see all these little alerts from msn telling me that im getting emails and i cant read them  , and then it only lets me in long enough to delete some stuff and then it dies again . at least lj is working to fix it, i feel like hotmail just doesnt care. though according to a friend who rang their tech support about that there was a LOT of swearing going on about it |

Hotmail's down? Wow - that's really bad. And it's been going on for a month? It must be a serious problem. Yahoo went funny on me in 2002, just when I was trying to do stuff for the Moonfair, and it was incredibly, frustratingly annoying, so you have all my sympathies. I hope they fix it soon.

Hotmail is down? Ouch. I remember the frustration of a couple of days without yahoo.
btw does anyone not have a gmail and want one? They keep giving me more invites.

Have just tried to log into LJ, and it has not happened. Tis a very sad day for us all.
The main page is up, though. It got my hopes up, only to crush them unmercifully when it wouldn't let me log in, but the main page is up. That's promising, yeah?
And someone said something about Six Apart? I started to concoct a conspiracy theory about them too, until I read that this had happened to LJ before. I don't know when though - I certainly don't remember.

I've just checked back and my journal is loading perfectly! Huzzah! I think they're getting things up and running smoothly, if the current posting stats are anything to go by: per hour: 20,000 - per minute: 333Hopefully you'll be able to log in again soon, Sorrel. I think I just managed to do it during an early burst of LJ workingness...  |
