HELLOOOOOO! It's been absolute yonks since I was able to post on an ober.net board ('cept the one just done below, bien sur) so my apologies, but I luv the new location! *puts up a strip of wallpaper* There, I've done my bit...really must decorate my section a little more, with a sig and a pic/avatar etc...oh, later will be good enough... ANYWAY! I wanted to say: Today I wandered into Angus and Robertson, and decided to ask when The Sending was due to be released, and the lovely lady there said that it's due at the end of October this year. Now, I know that a lot of us (meaning me) suspect it could be a lot later, but has anyone actually heard anything different for sure?? I can't remember wot rumours were flying around... And Darkbane wasn't even on the catalogue yet. I'm rather annoyed, coz I jusr re-finished Darksong today, so my mind is reeling like mad and simply dying to see wot happens next. Anyway, gotta run off, but I'll be a little more active nowadays, I promise! Hello to all (if any) newbies!! Cheerio, Lauren P.S. Yes, I saw the Moonfair msg on the 'old' board, and Things Are Moving.... *oh, the suspense!!*

I have also learned to be a bit sceptical about these sorts of runmours but how exciting would it be if it was true? And it *was* a bookshop lady so…

Well I asked at Angus and Robertson out my way about a month ago, and they said that it wasn't due out till next year sometime. They only had a time period, not a definate date when I asked. Hmmm, maybe IC has been writing like mad lately, and it will be ready by Oct? But I don't think I will hold my breath. I'm still thinking that it won't be ready till next year, so if it does come out in Oct, then I will be plesantly surprised, which is much better than that feeling you get when the realease date is a lot later than you expected.

That's what they said in January and February this year... And June last year...
And April last year...
And January last year...
Except there was somewhere that said October 2005...It hink they just made a mistake, that was in about June last year...
So, who'll go to the launch?? ;D

In the letter I got from Isobelle about a month ago, she said she was working on editing a first draft of a standalone novel called 'Alyzon' (I think...). After that she thinks she should write the 3rd book in the Gateway Trilogy ('The Firecat's Dream), only because they've just been released in America and hence the publishers there will want the 3rd book in a year or so. Then she'll get onto Sending! Think the wait's going to be a bit longer I don't care when it is, I'm going to Melb for the book launch and I'm hoping to see you all there! And we should all dress up like Gypsies, because it'd be fun, and we're already considered crazy to most people anyway

If the people in my town saw me dressed as a gypsy, I'd probably get staked or burned

aww, i wish i could come to the book launch. i doubt i'd be allowed though. bwahaha, i guess i could go down on a road trip with the other Sydney-ers and annoy them to death. yay! I don't think people in my neighbourhood'd be all that weirded out about me dressed as a gypsy. I've ben dressed as stranger things

Hey guys Ooh, my first post here. I work in our local bookstore, and I keep up to date with most new releases....especially the ones I care about. The release date on the Australian Books in Print catalogue, which is what most bookstores use, is October, but these release dates often get pushed back. I was speaking to the Penguin rep, who is a much more reliable source of info than the catalogue, and her info agrees with Min's. So, I'd say we'll be getting The Sending early next year sometime. But I'll try and keep everyone updated about her other releases as well.
