Apologies for the cheesy title
This announcement is to...announce...that come the new year, Obernewtyn.net will be moving into a new, friendlier, faster, easier to manage home. We've been preparing this new database driven obernet since March this year - and we've had a few members from here testing it for the past few months. We've merged the website (www.obernewtyn.net) and these message boards into one, combining sign up, forums, writing comps, debates, multimedia gallery - basically, everything.
On new years day, everyone will get an email with their passwords to the new site (which will be accessible from obernewtyn.net from the 1st, onwards).
The main bonus about the new site is that we don't lose any posts from these message boards - because face it, these forums are the lifeblood of Obernet. Everything can be converted (and most of it already has been). For the next 3-4 days until the new site launch, we'll be completing the forum conversion - as such, you'll probably notice threads being moved around here, and then locked. Don't worry, it's just to ensure that we have the latest version on the new site, and in a couple of days you'll be able to access them again at their new home
