Writers and writers' block... and a new board!

So many of us at Ober.net are writers that I thought it would be nice if we had a thread where we discussed our writing or our lack of writing, due to that dreaded monster known as writers' block. If there's enough interest, I might even think about starting a messageboard about writing, where people could post links to their own writing or even post small stories. Please vote in the poll so I can have an idea as to whether or not people would be interested in this.

Now to the fun stuff! I want to encourage Fiery Dragon to keep writing. Two thousand words is quite an achievement. I think you should celebrate it with some chocolate or junk food of your choice.

I also wanted to plead with Kayt to stop tempting me with talk of her story Questers and to let me read it!

I think that be all. Feel free to post about your writing successes and frustrations and don't forget to vote!

Some of us Wandies formed the Writersmerge a while back. We had a Yahoo! Group and everything. I'm the Owner, and I think the groups still active, but we kinda stopped using it.

Another group to talk about Writingness stuff would be FAN-tastic!!!

Same here. dang! Oooo i am going to love it here. this will help me. I write in genre's that my mom doesn't really like so when asked to read or help not to much enthusiasm. understandable totally but a bit of a bummer at times.

Thanks for your outrageous praise. I shall be responding to your email soon - it was such a lovely email. I blushed a lot as I read it.

Would you be interested in starting up that Yahoo group again? Those groups are a great way to get information to people and share stuff and generally have fun. We could link the group's home page in the board blurb, if you're interested.

Um... I guess I could start up the Yahoo! Group again.

I'll have a look at it and see what can be done.

I warn you though. If I own a Yahoo! Group I can and WILL change the colour scheme to look ludicrous. Just ask my Theatre Troop. (They're currently experiencing pure black)

I really ought to go home if I have a Yahoo! Group to see too.

Does Yahoo! suit everyone, or would they rather have a message board like this one?

Hehe - feel free to use whatever colour scheme you like! We might use the Yahoo group as a sort of accompaniment to the message board, if we want to make an announcement or ask people for urgent help... I'm making this up as I go, really, but I have a suspicion it's going to be a lot of fun!

It was veyr untidy. Lots of messages and polls and stuff, and files uploaded.

But i've purged it, so it's now completely empty, except for the old members.

It needed a clean anyway!!!

No really... My chicken HAS gone missing!
And it's no laughing matter...
a few years ago... I had chooks, they were old and started to die. It was sad! So then there was only one left... and then one day I couldn't find her...
SOMEBODY TOOK HER OUT OF MY YARD - SHE WAS STOLEN!!! I got very upset and cried for days!

True story... Thats why I voted for "My chicken has gone missing"


p.s. the good news is that last friday, we decided to get more chickens... so I now have 6 little funny bundles of craziness in a box under a lamp in my dinning room... Order has returned to the world at last!

It seems we need to have a message board and perhaps a Yahoo! group as well.

Perhaps we could have a section here for Writers...
But we'd have to make sure it didn't get spammed up. Perhaps just ask very nicely if people could only post if they were Writers, or people like Glynnavyre who are genuine interested parties.
Everyone else could please just ignore it, as some ignore Sus Rid.

And Yahoo! could be used to post up works and stuff. The two could be joined hand in hand! Like twins seperated at birth (that delightful old cliche)

But my course goes back on monday, and I'm not gonna have much time left to work on it anymore. meh, you get that.
