I checked out MySpace too, I think I made one entry, and lost it. Don't know where it's gotten lost in the world of internet junk.
LJ is easier to use in my mind. I don't know about all the layouts, though. Perhaps my workflow is different to everyone else who uses LJ; when I hit my friends list, they come up in my layout. If I want to read more about the article, I hit the subject heading from there and it comes up in the 'default' LJ white and blue. It's a very rare occasion I actually hit a username and go to their LJ, and see their design.

You would only see their layout if they force it on you  From memory from when I did my layout there was a little checkbox that allows you to force your layout on your friends if they want to comment. About half my flist have this option ticked so I always see how they are changing their headers/colours/everything. |

It also depends on the style of layout that you have. If you use an S1 layout, then you'll always see the default screen when commenting. If you have an S2 layout (and a paid account), you can choose to have everything appear in the style of your layout. I used to have that option enabled when I was using an S2 layout but I turned it off because it takes longer to load and it often doesn't allow you to see other people's comments when you're writing your own.

Yeah, arctic_firefox will be your account.
I shall friend you at once. To find out who has friended you go to "Manage" and "Friends". It will give you a list of people who have friended you with an option to friend them back!
All: Stop saying "friend".

Is it just me or are all the servers down?
I can use google via my firefox homepage, but I can't log into yahoo or view the google.com homepage.
And I have AFF as a friend!

I'm not having any problems with Yahoo or Google, but it's possible they just fixed whatever's wrong. Apparently, there are a lot of DOS attacks going on at the moment, which was what happened with LJ (or rather, Six Apart, LJ's parent company).
Either that, or it's something quantum.

Amazingly I became sooooooo bored today that I actually got of my bum and...well, stayed on it actually, and made my own livejournal! Should last at least a month before I forget about it, lol.
