Hey guys! I just wanted to let everyone know that I just received a letter from Isobelle Carmody! It was a very nice surprise to find in the letter box. In it she told me all the travelling she’s been doing, from here to India, to Prague (where she’s living this year) and now she’s off to Italy! She told me that because it explained why she took so long to reply to my letter and also to let me know that all the frantic travelling has stopped her finishing the final Obernewtyn book as soon as she intended. Her hope is that it will be finished by August as her publishers are agitating to get it out this year. She said however, that as much as she wants to get it out she’s anxious not to be hustled at the final stage. The rest of the letter just went on to talk about the Little Fur launch (as that’s what I had originally written to her about). She wondered if I was one of those “lovely” girls from www.obernewtyn.net that she met and she said the next Little Fur book, “A Fox Called Sorrow” will be out in May. Cheers! Em

Yay! much goodness! gosh i hope it's not released in the first week of October, i'm stuck on a camp for that whole week and i might have to dramatically sob if i miss out on the launch...
Even worse, the campsite has no mobile reception, so i won't even be able to sneak away from the midgets and call someone to hear the goss.....
but if she releases it this year, i can't complain too much

Siryn - take time off!! Dark One & Lucy: Should we be starting the official "Get the UKers to the Launch Charity fund" now? ;D How abouts, if you can't come, I'll track down someone with a video camera, and tape the whole thing. Or, we'll set up some sort of live video feed for the night

Hehe, sounds like a plan, Min!! Last year all of my friends were going to Dublin for a long weekend but I couldn't get the time off work, so I sent a Lucy representative in the form of a Barbie doll styled to look like me Sounds sad, but it was awesome! They carried Plastic Lucy around and she was in all the pics, and was also the source of amusement when their 'plane was delayed on the way back Thanks to them I got to drink Guinness, pole dance, meet a pilot, make out with a Leprachaun (sp?!) and give birth to a jelly baby all without leaving the office!

Fantabulous idea!! Please tell me nobody ate your child though, Lu... I'm planning to get to the UK later this year for a good few months-slash-years. So please let me know if there is to be an international celebration. Esp if there's to be a live video feed. We could do a whole news broadcast a la Bridget Jones. "And now, back to the studio..." How exciting, though!!! Thanks muchly Emeraaaaaaaaaaald!! Cheerio, FtS

A live feed would be good! I don't think i'll be able to save up to come to the launch (no matter how much i'd like to) as i'm trying to saveup to get my own place. I don't mind a doll taking my place, but i'd rather it didn't give birth to anything...

Ooo - well, I think we should have some kind of celebration over here, so keep us informed of your travels! I mean, there'll only be about 4 of us, but it's all good!I don't mind a doll taking my place, but i'd rather it didn't give birth to anything... Well, it was all fun and games at the time, but they didn't realise that doing it with a large, red jelly baby made the whole thing look a bit dodgy when you didn't know what was supposed to be going on...
