My friends 21st was a pirate party, it was great  He wove thick rope everywhere to give it that boaty feeling and pirate flags etc. Everyone dressed up, it was a lot of fun |

Omega, you DEFINATELY all have to celebrate talk like a pirate day ;D You could slip in a few piratey words now and then, in every-day speech

i have a medieval group in my college too. The medieval group at my uni has pirates as a sub group. For games and competitions within the group we break into our smaller groups Caelomen- Celts, Fensgard-Vikings, Darvon-Pirates, Glenshie-Hippy/Fantasy and Carisvale-Crusaders. It can get very competitive at times  |

Oh my god Someone else knows about talk like a pirate day!!!! I thought I was the only one. It's on the 19th of September!!! The smaller groups only have 10-15 people each, so we normally do stuff together, and only break into out groups for the competitive games. Every now and again we have a 'pizza and pirates' movie night. Our last movie night was crusaders though so we watched Kingdom of Heaven *drools*. We have themed 'workshops' on Mondays, where we learn to make/do something that was done back then. For that we've done costuming, calligraphy, pottery, tablet weaving, swordsmanship, archery, cooking, gambling games, slave auctioning (done to raise money- people on the exec committee are auctioned off for 4 hours of their time )ummm... heraldic shields, dancing, waterbomb day (not exactly period, but lots of fun )can't remember what else Basically just hang out, do vaguely medieval-themed stuff and have fun. |
