*pokes head up sheepishly*
Hi all! I just want to extend my apologies for my extremely long absence - especially to my fellow Ashlings and Prodders ppl! I have been a really slack obernetter lately, but it is all due to a good cause!
I have a new job, and have been so unbelievably busy! teaching is very full-on. no matter how much you think you are organised, you aren't.
but I have a job for the rest of this year, which is awesome. i am soo very happy about that! I hope to be around a bit more these hols and also much later - i am going to be working 3 days a week on a permanent basis and not 5 so i will have more time to devote to Obernet.
i feel especially slack concerning Critiquing. I am so sorry to those ppl i didn't critique, but i have managed to read most of your pieces and they were fabulous!
don't hate me!!!!
okay, i'm gunna lurk around and see who still wants to talk to me
Cheers all MysteriKate

Well, i don't know Kat... it's gonna be hard to talk to such a lovely person as yourself... i think i might be able to do it every now and again.
Velcome Back! And do not worry about Prodders..... you're not the only slack person there...

Mysterikat!!!!
*tackle hugs*
Welcome back, and fabulous that you have a job! Under the circumstances, you are forgiven.
And you WOULD put a critique NOW, when I've said "5 minutes of Obernet and then I'll write my essay!"
Welcome welcome welcome back!
Who are you teaching? What are you teaching? More information, if you will!!! MORE! MORE!

i'm teaching english mainly. i've got a year 8 and year 9 class, year 12 advanced, and year 12 ancient history. i also do support for year 8 science.
its great. the school i'm at is small, but not too small, with excellent resources and excellent staff. i'm one of 3 english teahers, so i'm not left totally in the dark, which is awesome. its great to be able to ask other more experienced people for help, and actually get good help!
i had a couple of testy weeks at the start of term, when the kids were getting to know me, and i was getting to know them. now they know that when i get angry at them, they are in big trouble ;D
i'm so happy i get to stay on - my position was only temporary and i didn't know if i was going to have more than a term there. but yah! i get to stay! i'm tackling shakespeare with year 8 at the moment, and film studies with year 9. its so amazing to be able to work with material and stuff that you love everyday.
so its good to be back! thanks for the hugs and welcomes!

I wouldn't worry... I don't actually like shakespeare all that much! (ducks flying fruit from shakeseare lovers) But good on you for your job, MysteriKat. I'm glad you're so passionate about it. Sounds like you've got an enormous workload.

So unfair!!)
Good luck with all the teaching, Mysterikat!
