ATTENTION WANDERERS. THIS IS YOUR LEADER SPEAKING!
"Woof woof bark bark bark. Whine! Woof woof! Whimper bark woof woof woof!"
Translation:
Hello Wandies. First of all, I, Rex Ficus, would like to thank you for electing me Guild Master. I assure you that, though only a Dual Flush toilet and a figment of your overactive imaginations, I promise to be the finest Guild Master in Obernet's History.
All: Um... you're the only Guild Master.
Rex Ficus: Well... yeah. Anyway...
The main purpose of this messgae is to announce that the second half of our elections is now on. Late last year, 6 candidates were nominated for the 6 available posistions. We have decided to elect 3 Guildens and 3 Wards.
As we only have six nominations, all 6 candidates are automatically Wards, so we want to elevate 3 of these to the rank of Guilden.
One of the 6 candidates, Brydie, does not wish to run for Guilden. She has accepted her nomination for ward, however. This means we need to pick 3 Guildens from the 5 Candidates.
The 3 candidates with the highest vote will be elected Guildens, the remainder will continue as Wards. I hope this makes sense to everyone and that I haven't rambled. Please keep in mind I am a toilet and that this speech is being transmitted to you in translation, so it isn't exactly perfect.
So:
HOW TO VOTE:
The Wanderer Guild uses an electoral system that is less complicated than it looks. You, the voter, have 10 "points" with which you can vote. You also have a list of 5 candidates. To vote, you divide the 10 points up between candidates however you see fit. This means you can give all 10 points to one person, or 5 each to two people, 2 each to all five candidates, 3 to one and 7 to another, or any other combination you choose. As long as your total adds up only to 10, you can distribute votes however you choose.
Here is an example vote:
Rex Ficus: 3 points
Spot: 2 points
Rover: 1 point
Lassie: 3 points
Scraps: 2 points
WHEN AND WHERE TO VOTE:
Once again, Marumiss will be counting our votes, because she is wonderful! Please send your vote into her during the next 2 weeks. Voting closes on Tuesday January 31st.
Her email address is: zach53@ optusnet.com.au
THE CANDIDATES:
There are 5 candidates, and the 3 who recieve the most votes will be appointed Guildens, while the other 2 will be Wards.
The candidates are:
Brownie
Clare
Kayt
Rilla
Talmina
Each has written a brief statement:
Brownie:
"I believe that I could be a good guilden as I consider my organisational skills to be high-quality and I feel that I could support my fellow wanderers in nearly any situation."
Clare:
"I serve at the pleasure of the Wanderers. Can I have some asparagus? Or something."
Kayt:
"I love my Wanderers, I love doing stuff and I have volunteering disease, so I think I'd be an excellent Guilden. Also, I have political experience, in that I personally ran Rex Ficus' VERY succesful GM campaign. Also, remember who doles out the elephant priviliges..."
Rilla:
"I would make a good Guilden because I love the Wanderer Guild, and I'm always around to lend a hand. I would love to help the guild in any way I can, wether it be Moonfair, Writing Comps, or just welcoming Newbies.
I would hopefully play a part in managing the guild well!"
Talmina:
"As Guilden of the Wanderer Guild I will give you all many TimTams ..."
Serious candidates for a serious campaign...
Please get your votes into Marumiss, ASAP, and if you have any questions about the voting process you can PM me, or PM or email Kayt or Clare.
Bark bark. Woof woof.
