I'm so excited! I have to share this with everyone...I got a job! i finally get to use my brain and all my years at uni for something productive!! I am now an Enlgish teacher at a small school where i live and i am stoked!!
its gunna be sooo good! It took ages but i finally found what i was good at and now i get to do it everyday!
its only a temporary position but who cares!! its so much better than working in a pub. and the position may become permanent so i am crossing my fingers that that will happen!

thanks guys!
i am getting more excited by the minute! As well as English, i get to teach HSIE, HSC Ancient History, and (gulp) year 8 science!! thats a bit scary! And i also get to teach HSC Advanced English, which i am looking forward too so much! So now i am re-reading Emma and King Lear for that, and hunting down some poems for Year 8.
Lots of work to do...

yeah i don't know what i'm gunna do with the science classes yet. i'm actually team teaching for that one so hopefully the other teacher will have it all planned and i'll just go with it.
i hate a terrible science teacher. he would never ever let us make big bangs! he was old and cranky and we weren't allowed to play with chemicals and stuff, even though we were all farm kids and had already been mixing chemicals for years! i'm better at the biological sciences and environmental stuff than chemistry and physics.
its a small school but it has lots of money, so there are often two teachers per class. thats great for the kids, cause they are small mixed ability classes, so no one has to get left behind if the work is too hard, or bored if they find it easy. i'm really looking forward to team teaching. anything that makes the learning experience of the studnet better is fine by me!

That's awesome news. Congratulations, hope the kids are all great (or at least mostly). Good to hear that the school has good funding, it's such a rare find these days.

LOUD CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! OOOoooh, in science, do the thing where you set fire to strips of magnesium, also pour concentrated sulfuric acid on a pile of sugar. not that they were the only highlights of my school yrs.

Ha! I shall take that suggestion to the science department Siryn!
all i got to do in science was make copper sulfate crystals and grow grass in cotton wool! stupid science-nazi teacher...
i hate King Lear!!! i'd forgotten how much until i read it again! i'd hate to have to be studying that play...
