I'VE BEEN WHERE FARAMIR'S BEEN TOO!!! NZ is awesome, isn't it, Kayt? My best friend and I went there after Year 12 last year and basically spent nine days looking at LOTR things. How much more fun can you have? (Although we did do museums etc too.) We went to Hobbiton (the most fun anyone can possibly have ever ever ever!), the Wooded Road ('I think we should get off the road ... Get off the road!'), Rivendell, Ithilien ('Oliphants ... no-one at home's going to believe this!'), various bits of Rohan, ... it just goes on and on. If anyone is ever over there, I highly recommend the Rover Ring Tour in Wellington. From memory its costs NZ$150, but it goes for a full day (in fact ours went more than an hour overtime because everyone was having so much fun and no-one had evening plans), they provide an absolutely delicious lunch and the tour guides are unbelieveably knowledgable (about the books, the films, the locations, the way the movies where shot....). They also take you to places that you would NEVER be able to find on your own, even if you do have the LOTR Location Guidebook and especially if, like us, you are car-less. You also must absolutely do the Hobbiton tour. It really is quite unbelievable. It's just a few minutes outside of Matamata (the tours leave from the Matamata Visitors Information Centre), which is a town about 3(?) hours from Auckland, but it is on the road to Rotorua. Anyway it is so absolutely brilliant that it is worth making the effort to get there ... I have photos of me standing under the Party Tree and in Bag End's front door - what more could a LOTR tragic ask for??? Sorry about the long post; I get a bit over-excited when I start thinking about LOTR and NZ (can't you tell?) Anyway, hope you found some of Faramir's essence, Kayt, because I certainly did!! :DAlbreda
