Not sure if this should go here but I thought I may get a bigger response...but if you go to JKRs website and click on the hair band (on the right side of the key) I was wondering if its possible to get through the door? |

hmm, i've tried clikcing on everything. The handle moves a bit, and the lights turn off. i even tried clicking on the fly, but nothing happened

You can indeed get through the door, but it only opens at certain times.
You can't get through right now, because JKR has not authorised door opening at the moment. She'll unlock it a few times to reveal clues leading up to Book 7.

Any ideas when she unlocks the door?
You know I spent ages trying to catch the moth on the first page. I think it's designed so if the mouse goes near it, it flies away. Drove me bonkers!

She unlocks the door whenever, usually on some kind of special date. Like Halloween or the day she releases the book release date. Then it remains open for about a week. Only behind it is usually a puzzle you have to solve before you can get the clue.
Other than that there's all sorts of other things you can do. Like collecting bits and bobs which then give you completely pointless but fun all the same things like first chapters that you can't read....

Yeah Flit basically summed it up. The door opens at certain times and reveals clues about the books etc. I remeber reading about when it opened earlier this year or late last year and she gave a description of the half blood prince (however, this later turned out to be a description of the new minister of Magic Srcougmeur or something (cant think of his name right now). Id expect it to possibly open on Christmas (I think it did last year or if not sometime next year). Once I think it was open for me but I couldnt get in- the thing hanging on the door moved but then the odor wouldnt open and i spent 10 mins yelling at the computer screen.
Yeah, basically u just have to fluke it or frequently visit some HP fan site where they will inform u of these sorts of things.

that might have been the one where you had to switch the light off in the hall before the door would open... that was a tricky one

I've only gotten in once, and there was nothing in there ... unless you count the cobwebs 
I check it on a semi-regular basis, but everytime I have I just get a do not disturb sign ... so annoying! Just like the flys and moths that avoid the cursor!
But it is a really cool site. I love it! Espescially the pointless things you collect to win stuff ... like that unreadable first chapter ... although I managed to get the general gist of it after a while ...

The pointless things that u were asking about above are things like drawings of some of some of the characters and as alluded to hand written notes of chapters etc. You get them from doing certain things around the site, like moving stuff and collecting certain things etc. By the way (its sorta linked) has anyone been too (spoiler follows for those who havent read the 6th book) |

Sirius dying was such a shock to me. There was fighting, Dumbledore arrived to save the day and then WHAM! Sirius was dead When Dumbledore died it sort of built up to it, but Sirius died so suddenly and I found it more upsetting. Mind you, the funeral scene for Dumbledore was very sad. |
