I asked Emerald for the passwords and she accidentally publically replied to one of my posts with them instead of PMing them.

It's just a general safety check. As much as we love the old password, we have had it for over a year and a half, i should think, and have kept no list of who has it and who hasn't. It occured to us that a breech could occur with such ease, and considering the size of Obernet now, the need to keep people's plans for meets safe has increased. So we just decided it was better to change the password now. Sorry about the bother, but we need to make that board as safe as we can. Not an easy thing to do on the net, but we try our best ;D

I asked Emerald for the passwords and she accidentally publically replied to one of my posts with them instead of PMing them. Yes, it's mostly my fault! i have no idea how i managed to do it! But as Flit said - we were going to change the password anyway for all the reasons she stated. My little (and very embarrassing) accident just prompted the change to be sooner, rather then later... Sorry for any inconvenience!!!

I suppose it didn't help with the previous password being in plain view on the banner...

How many posts do you need to get the password for members? I'm just guessing but was the old one 'i am a misfit'?

not quite... you need to have 1. contributed to a certain number of conversations about Obernewtyn (not just posted madly in sus rid and the dining hall) 2. be recommended by someone who already has the password Why am I reinventing the wheel? for guidelines, go here

Yeah, in year 7 our history teacher told us that the <insert word for them that I've forgotten, from Suma or something> invented the wheel, and then when we studied Egypt they apparently invented the wheel as well. When we asked her who actually invented the wheel she said they all shared things back then. Sure.

Or was that the Mesopotamians? Wait, the Sumerians were Mesopotamians! So yeah, the Mesopotamians invented the wheel. Does anyone actually care about this? No? Good! Hehe, our history teacher in year 7 came about 25 minutes late to our first lesson and then spent the rest of the period lecturing to us about the importance of air circulation when he saw that we had left the windows closed. Ah Mr Hogarth, you always were very astute, especially when he graded two identical projects in year 8 Geography and not only ignore the blatant similarities between the two, but actually gave one a higher mark than the other.

Yep, those are the ones! I couldn't remember the words for them. Anyway, we never did work out who actually invented the wheel in year 7 history...

Uh... just getting back to topic very quickly... just wanted to say I'm cool with you guys changing the password... It's much safer that way!
Now you can go back to talking about Sumarians and Mesopotamians or whoever they are...

Oh, I think you're right Dark One, but the Sumerians did occupy the southern part Mesopotamia, which is where I got confused. I think I kind of group all the Sumerian, Hittite, Babylonian stuff together because I had no idea what was going on in year 7 history. *shrug*
