Well, what are you interested in?
History types will enjoy Greece, Rome, Egypt and the rest of the Medditerranean
If you want sun, then California, Tuscany, Spain etc might be for you.
Skiing? Italy, New Zealand, Austria
It all depends...

As for overseas destinations, I've only ever been to Thailand, but I really enjoyed that Twas heaps of fun, and pretty damn cheap, although a bit smelly. My friends and I went a little more expensive than most people probably do, to ensure that we got good hotels with a swimming pool. I guess it depends on what sort of holiday you are looking for.. well, I guess most people when they go on holidays are looking for sight seeing and fun, but some people are more interested in sight seeing than others Lots of cool sights in Thailand - plenty of temples, and other man made stuff, but also beautiful scenery. Some parts of it can get really, really, overly touristy, but if that's not your thing, there are still plenty of places to go that aren't so bad. I'd particularly recommend checking out Koh Samui..

Ah. I've never been overseas, so I can't recommend anywhere
But my parents absolutely LOVED Vanuatu! It's great apparently. And something for everyone too, sun, sight seeing, culture, jungle trekking, boats, shopping

Wow - you lucky thing! Well, I;d love to go to Cananda. Went once when I was little and want to live there now!! But since you're going there already that's kinda pants advice. Spain is ok...definately go to Rome and Pompeii - it's packed with wonderful buildings and food and people. How about Jamaica? It's expensive but worth it (well, so I've heard) Whatever you do, don't come to the Uk - our weather is poo even in summer (i haven't seen *any* sun for about a week) But...if you do then go to Scotland, Edinburgh - it's so pretty! (I know I kinda contradicted myself there, but I don't care )

If you're heading to the Brit Isles at all, give London a bypass and head straight to Scotland - I recommend Fort William, Isle of Skye, Edinburgh - they're my most favourite places ever, they're so beautiful. I miss it. Lucky little duck. Tell us where you end up deciding to go!

scotland's wicked, i'm like a fifth generation aussie on one side (the rest is all fleeing germany during war and being gypsy folk so it's a bit sus) anyway, we were tracing back out family from when they came over from scotland, and my mum went to the blacksmith were my ancestors worked and lived hundreds of years ago. how cool is that?

Ooo, careful of Wales. SOme villages seem to have a "they're not Welsh, don't speak to them...at least, not in English" type policy. I think they're afraid of England invading or something...no offence to anyone though!! Just an observation
