Greetings and Salutations, my fellow Wanderers.
The time has come to elect your new Guild Master/Mistress. Three candidates have been nominated for this prestigious position, and you have 3 weeks from today to make your choice and send in your vote. The candidates are:
Clare
Kayt Sel Liantuy
AND Rex Ficus
At this stage we are ONLY voting for the GM posistion. Guilden and Ward elections will be held when a GM has been elected.
Please send your vote to Marumiss, who has volunteered to be our vote counter. Her address is zach53@optusnet.com.au
You should simply list the 3 candidates in order of your preference.
That's all you have to do.
Voting closes on Thursday the 5th of January, so get those votes in quick, old beans!!!

Now... a word about and from our candidates:
Clare and Kayt Sel Liantuy wish to make the following campaign statement:
We have been running and organising the Wanderer Guild for years now, and we have always felt privileged to serve our Guild. But, frankly, we simply don't have the credentials. We think you should vote for our opponent.
Rex Ficus is a Dual Flush Toilet, and thus is unable to make any campaign statement other than "Whine whine... WOOF!!!" However, his campaign manager, a Miss K. S. Liantuy has the following to say on behalf of the candidate:
This guild NEEDS a Guild Master, and who better to lead our guild than a bona fide Dual Flush Toilet? My candidate, Rex, is well known among the Wandering community, and what would our halls be without Rex running around them, licking our feet and demanding treats? Rex Ficus is a Wanderers Institution! Moreover, he has credentials as a genuine water conservationist, and we know he has Guild Spirit, because he
likes to savage other Obernetters (hence the muzzle). Vote 1: Rex Ficus!
A Dual Flush Candidate for a Dual Flush Guild!

ON A SERIOUS NOTE:
The Wanderer Guild has operated under it's current system (sans Guild Mistress) for over a year now, and Clare and Kayt believe that system works fine. Neither Clare nor Kayt wants to be Guild Mistress, and run the Guild that way.
We much prefer the current system where everyone pulls in and does a little bit. We think that with the election of new
Guildens and Wards, this system will work brilliantly.
However, OFFICIALLY, a Guild must have a GM and that is why we are 100% behind Rex Ficus, the Dual Flush Toilet's bid for Guild Master.
Kayt is willing to take on the Guild Mistress posistion if the
majority of Wandies want a real, human GM, but she'd much rather you elect the Toilet, and share the work of a GM amongst 2 or even 3 Guildens.
So... if you really want an actual human Guild Mistress, by all means vote for Kayt or Clare. However, a vote for Rex is a vote for the current system of shared duties: what Kayt calls the "Autonomous Collective."
In short, while Clare and Kayt are accepting their nominations for GM, in order to give the guild the option, they are in agreement that the system we've had in place since Aurian was Taken by Slavers is working just fine.
If you agree, please vote for Rex Ficus! He will be installed as our "Official" Guild Master, and all the work will be done by the Guildens and Wards.

According to the Wandies, whenever one of them is elected to be a GM, they subsequently disappear. This is known as the Wandies' GM Curse.

...or those magic wands you had in primary school which was just a thin tube of clear, viscous liquid with glitter swimming around in it.
And it's easier to play it safe than be so hubristic as to think the curse may have been lifted. It's happened thrice or so I'm told, and that's far too many! Hence Rex Ficus is the one and only option! He's not going to go anywhere [unless he grows wheels of course] and we can continue being what Kayt fondly terms, a peaceful 'autonomous collective.'
