Hi! I know this is probably old news to alot of you, but hey! I'm excited!!! Today I was at Collins Books, and pre-ordered my copy of Alyzon Whitestarr... So, I thought "While I'm at it, I mite aswell see if they have a date for the sending YET" Thinking that they won't... Well!! Guess who just re-ordered their copy of The Sending? Like I said, if you all know already, indulge me, please. But today, I found out that it's in-store the same day as Alyzon Whitstarr which, for this store, is Oct-1st! So, if you haven't done so already, go down and pre-order! Woo hoo!! Cheers and Cherries, Elaria071 P.S Thankyou for indulging me if this is old news

That's an old date.
IC hasn't even finished it yet. She's said so in interviews. Book stores are such silly places. They ALWAYS say the coming October, and they're ALWAYS wrong!

Yes, alas, I'd be extremely surprised if it was actually the case. I think Isobelle's out of the country for a little while and I don't imagine she'd let an important thing such as the launch of The Sending happen while she wasn't around to attend the launch. We'd need time to prepare, in any case. The sad fact is, when it comes to OC books, bookstores are never told the truth.

No, not at all! Come back! We must all wallow in misery together. Bookstores seem to be told weird things by publishers who don't know what they're talking about, which is quite unfair for those of us desperately waiting for books to come out.

Yes if you listen to bookstores all of those titles you have desperately been waiting for are due out in October. *cough* Sword from Red Ice *cough* We'll just have more time now to endlessly debate over what's going to happen in the Snedding. And this is good ;D

Yes, I went into my local Angus and Robertson today and asked when they'd be getting Alyzon Whitestarr in and they said they had no record of it!
Silly people!
Luckily i went to the Dymocks on the next level and they said they'd be getting it in on the 26th...

I never ask bookstores - I just rely on the good old internet.

Grrr.... Collins, i hate them so much, over priced and stupidly staffed (sorry if anyone here work for them, you're not stupid, your organisation is) When we first moved back into town, i was so excited. After years of being bassically cut off on our farm, i was within walking distance walking distance of the nearest bookstore. Which was a Collins. Excitedly i made my way down there, only to discover that their selection of books weren't all that. But i didn't mind. What i really wanted was a copy of Tamora Pierce's Wild Magic, and so i went to the register guy, who happened to be the manager, and ordered a copy.
I'm still waiting.
*looks at watch* Eyep, i make that six years or so and counting. It's a pity the store closed after three :S

Hey, thanx guys. I guess I just feel a bit like a smeg, thinkin it was out when it wasn't. :S But yes, we can still, err, "discuss" wats gonna happen! Yay! I know what ur sayin bout Collins tho! The one closest to me has downsized alot of their book selections! I thought it was shuttin down! And then the one up at eastland DID close down! Grr... got a stupid gift voucher for them to spend and everything! Oh, By the way, I think that Elli mite be a candidate for the Destroyer.... or maybe (hope not) but Brydda :S

The main problem in gettign release dates (and reprints and whetehr a title is on order, or even in stock....) is that when a date is pushed back, the publishers rarely update their records. Also, you have to knwo which customer service reps are reliable and which ones aren't. There are certain onces for soem companies that after talkign to them, I'll jsut call again and hope to get someone else to get the correct information. Some of them are too lazy to check beyond the obvious for you...either that, or they're incompetant, I haven't decided yet. I feel it more charitable to assume they're lazy Thus, my rant on behalf of the bookstores is compelte

*suddenly amused* Hey, has anyone else been struck with the thought that one day, we'll all reach the point when we simply don't believe that the Sneding will ever be released at all, and so even the REAL date will totally pass us by, until suddenly one of us happens to glance at a bookshelf and it's sitting RIGHT THERE? That'd be hilarious...almost hoping it happens like that... *chuckles* FtS

Hehe, I think they just say October if they don't know.
And Elaria, I think you live near me. I live near Eastland. I never really bought books from Collins, they suck. It's Dymocks and Angus and Robertson all the way! (And if it's a big enough book, Kmart and Big W...)
