Okies Ive spoken to a few in Dining Hall... What are the guild colours??? At moonfair Min gave these out : Ashlings - Yellow Dreamies - Blue Mystics - Purple Wanderers - Pink Now as Min has already said to me, Wanderers were apposed to Pink, so i shall make them Green (Mins suggestion, blame Min .... ) Now what i want to know, is are there any specific colours Guilds want?? Please only suggest your guilds colour, unless someone knows if any of these are decided on already? Ive already had a Dreamie say she thought we were Purple... and if there isnt a set colour, what do guilds want??? What do we associate to ( besides our preety lilac purple of our boards) Also we have a few male members so i dont want to pick 4 very girly colours, but thats not to say we wont have purple or pink, just not both of them!!! Suggestions???

I think those colours are excellent DragonMornir! I've always thought of us Mystics as being purple, and Ashlings as yellow.

I agree with you, good Siryn - gold sounds much better than yellow! I'm not a huge fan of yellow, although it does look good on the sun.
Gold for the Ashlings, I say! ;D

I've always seen the Dreamies as blue - all shades of blue. Probably because their first ever site had a very prominent blue theme (oldbies, remember that blue picture of the lady made out of clouds?). Similarly with the Mystics first site (designed by Lix ) with it's wicked purple background, and silver highlights. Ashlings I've always seen as taking the goldy-yellowy colours, and the Wandies, browns, red, sort of earthy colours (the oval gateway and path on the first site?). All of these are just based on the initial colour schemes that were implemented by the first guild leaders, so they might not even be relevant any more...

Wandies don't have a colour. That kind of imposed symbolism is against the very nature of the autonomous collective. The Wanderer Guild only grows organically, and all changes we make are largely the natural result of societal evolution. We're free-thinking, and anti-rules. Live and let live and all that.
Oh no! We're far too free-spirited to tie ourselves, as a Guild, down to any one colour.

If we had to ick a colour for the Wandies, I'd agree and say green, but I reckon nah. Kayt's right- we don't need a colour!

Im merely curious as to what we associate with each guild, and for eg if were to have anything with guildyness on it... what colour would u want as your guild background?? ( eg name tags).... its all up to interpretation, and NO Kayt, i dont want to box anyone in, but surely there is a shade somewhere that is more wandie than any other shade surely the autonomous collective could come to an agreement where in they take on that colour as its most like their guild... And as wandies... well.. are known to wander, perhaps earthy colour are more likely than any other colour scheme???
Dreamies are we happy with shades of blue???

No, no! I'm sorry, but we simply couldn't restrict ourselves like that. We're far too ethereal... We're just not the kind of Guild who can restrict ourselves like that. I'm sure we could agree on a colour, but overall, we're not really represented by any colour. We're more represented by an absence of guild colour. Because such a thing would be far too rigid and regimented.
It would imply organisation and rules. And that's at odds with the "come-as-you-please" policy of the Wandies.

Then decide on a colour:P heheh
I dont expect it to be " oh wandies are always going to have everything in x shade"
but more like " wandies like this colour, if other guilds are choosing a single colour for something this will be the colour we choose for that thing. but dont expect us to be represented by it!"
is that cool??? heheh

Wandies walk their own path - that's why we love them I would suggest a hideous puce shade or perhaps salmon - for no-one would willingly choose such a colour and thus no-one will really believe it's a Wandie colour ;D

There shall be no salmony-puce! Or green!
Clare: OR PINK!!!!
And definitely not Pink.

Colours are sweet, but I'm not fond of restricting a guild to a particular colour... There hasn't been a real need for it so far, and i don't really see one.
It's true I've used blue on the Dreamies site, but thats mainly cause blue is a night time colour, and it looks good... Also, i like it.. hehe..
Why do was have to assign a colour to a guild? As much as i like blue, i also like purple and green... I might like to make a dreamie sig out of those colours one day, but am i not going to be able to cause thats a mystic colour?

I have to admit, I identify more strongly with the symbols of Ashlingness than with any particular colour. I'd rather associate Ashlings with cheesecake and antelopes instead of a colour. The problem with colours is that they're so personal. Whereas one colour might really appeal to one person, that same colour could put another person off entirely.

One should never skim read a post that contains one's ober name as an adjective. It results in all sorts of misreadings and confusion...

I don't think you should makes badges with guild specific colours DM, just make them all colours! It's so much prettier like that! And like someone else said, what if i actually hate blue? I would get stuck with blue stuff all the time...
Make a range of colours to suit everyone... ;D

My reason for making them colours was so that it was instantly recogniseable what guild someone was from! Im talking bout the damn cardboard etc guys!! not the finished product!!!! besides i ony have the pins, not the actual badges. Does each guild want to nominate someone from their guild or something???

Well, if it's cardboard, and something no ones gonna see, make it whatever colour you want... But i still say make them main colour of the badges all diff colours... Why do you have to have them seperated? Isn't it all about coming together as a whole site? And we will already know who's in what guild anyway... Thats usually not the focus of meets, it's all about the community as a whole. And nominate someone from their guild to do what? Cheers! Em

oh gods, colours? badges? :S What is this, a sports carnival? Should i start barracking for my house with bawdy songs that are just carbon copies of what every other house is singing?
Isn't this something that should be discussed in the guilds so that everyone in each guild gets a chance to decide if it is going to go ahead?
Personally i think we have enough clutter with the symbols. To restrict to colours is going to be just another point of contention. I would hate things to get to a point that Kayt won't be allowed to use yellow because it's an ashling's colour, or Megs would have to give up her blue. colour is universal, i much prefer the variety in people's sigs if they don't feel obliged to stick to a specific colour.
and what are the badges for anyway?
