w00t! I go for Sydney, Geelong and St Kilda, so i'm hoping they'll all be in the finals this year (and that one of them will win!)

Geelong (cats) is one of the best teams and will win this year (hope so) ;D

I don't like the lions either, but I think last years finals were the last will see of them for some time!

West Coast are on top- they haven't lost a game so far (and are completely smashing Sydney at this very moment ) Kangaroos have only lost one..

Sydney is not going too well..they've only won 2/5 games so far...
And i think Collingwood only won one game..

I think that's great for the game. It gets kind of boring when the same team(s) dominate(s) year after year. Ok, so I'm sure that's good for their fans, but not for everyone else!

I was a mad Lions supporter but i've driffted away from them since living in Melbourne. I still support them but i love going to the footy all the time and with Lions i couldn't do that, so now i go to all the Hawks games as thats who almost all of my family support. This is my frist year as a member for Hawks.

My fav Hawks players are Sam Mitchell, Trent Croad and Shane Crawford. Outside the club i love Nick Riewolt (s/p?) for st kilda and Nathan Brown for Richmond. Well i love them when they arn't playing against the Hawks...

well soccer is purely a football game - u no how that goes ur an english boy.

ALF is on a round oval and involves a kinda of jump, catch, run (with a bounce of the ball every-so-often), pass (by punching the ball or by kicking) nad kicking for a goal. (other can elaborate more)

rugby - has line in's (im sure uve seen a little bit of this in england) and some srums. but over all is like a mid way between league and AFL (well in my opionion). its flows a bit more. not as many stops and starts.

league on teh other hand is all about the tackles. u get 5 thckles or somethin before u hand the ball over or take a kick at goal. its a stop start stop start kind of game.

but i think WHO plays them makes more the of deffinition. ppl from victoria tend to play ALF. ur workers/old skool union ppl play league and ur private skool boys play union. (well at least that is how i seperate them for ppl).

as for american football. well that involves running and lots of catching. u can throw forward and stuff. as long as u cross the end line its a goal. u dont have to physically touch the ground with the ball. there are also more distinct positions which allow u to do seperate things. i dont no to much about it. but its deffinately more of a throwing/running game compaired to our tackle, kicking, throwing games. if that makes any sense

hope that helps a little Darkone. im really no good at explaining things. just watch a couple minutes of each game and ull see the difference.

and to everyone else im sorry bout changing the topc its sport but im goin to do it again and ask darkone a question: do u watch football (soccer) and if so who's ur team!? plus who were the top 3 in teh priemier league this yr

Im not really a fan of football (yes, i know its weird for a bloke!), and have no idea who's in the premiership. My gf likes football (and so does my sister strangely enough), and they both support Tottenham Hotspurs (Spurs)
