The bells will toll, sound out in mourn
For our Obernet has gorn...
The Dining Hall lays silent
We never learnt what Wud meant
No more the nonsense Rid of Sus
Or even the madness of SR Plus
Dearth the Boards of wanton chatter
The Theories quiet on things that matter
No Quoters quoting
Or birthday doting
The Library is devoid of posting
Proboards are tonight upgrading
Memories of Ober already fading
31 hours, we're still waiting!
The many indulge in deadly sins
Packed to the brim, Livejournal grins
Yet we remain forever true
To Obernet and all it's due
Just hurry up, for dear lud's sake
For with poetry now we procrastinate

Late is the Hour and the brains grow muddled....
Never were a group of forum-goers so troubled
As code and upgrades bubbled
Close together we all huddled
For comfort and good cheer
Our eyelids growing heavy
Warm mugs we clasped within our hands
And looked wearily at the clock
In the 38th hour of 24 hour shock?
"Is this the way to show our devotion?
Staying up late with poetry in motion?"
"12:35am, we've been here all day
Watching the minutes ticking away"
All can see who is truly devout
By the whinging voice and constant pout
We've written one poem while waiting for Ober
And we'll write poems three-hundred times over
It's true what they say, United we Stand
What a good show,'Solidarity,' it's awfully grand
After all, it's much too late for a coherant line
Forget about meter,stanzas. Forget about rhyme
"Eight minutes" spake the poets, with pathetic glee...
Yet the server offline continued to be.
To Six, To Five, To Four To Three
AND DING DING DING!!!
"I'm sorry Proboards, your time is up..."
Nothing, zilch, 27,000 lines of code....
"You know, we'll go to bed and 10 minutes later the Boards will open."

The Boards are currently in maintenance mode, so only staff members can log in, whilst we get things fixed up that aren't working. I.e. checking PM's. |

ive bene at chris' the entire time the boards have been down (well i went hoem for a few hours). theres now a random guy stalking me on the net until i teach him how to do a web page (as if you'd ask me!!!) and its all a bit weird. thank god obernet is back

So hang on... let me get the hang of this.... Only people who are 'staff' (mods and guardians) can log on.... right? We haven't really seen anything to the contrary yet, have we? And we are supposed to fix things up in this time.... so... when can the others come back on if this is the case?

and am totally miffed at lack of mod powers.... i know you guys are working on it, so i won't bother you with it much more, i'll just know that you are off saving the day again!
....We should get you guys super power costumes and names..... but no capes, don't want any of you to have a cape incident...

Nah, we're out of maintenance mode. I just did that because I wanted to fix up the PM stuff before everyone got here. Other than the newly discovered mod problems, it was the major functional problem that was going to affect the most people. Hopefully, most of the other problems will just be aesthetic.

Kewl, I was just about to pour over some forums and test out what's going on with that...thank Lud it's updated. Perhaps it's something to do with maintenance mode?
I'm off to check out the extra rankings we can use now!! Huzzuh for upgrade!

S'all good. The upgrade reset the mod powers all to "No". Just had to go through and fix em again.
