So, a coupla months ago, I suggest that we update the forums, moving away from the 'string thread' sort of board. But everyone angrily states that its fine as it is, and theres no reason to change it! Fed up with the annoying interface, I leave. Now that I come back, the forum has been updated. ARRRGH!  |

Well, if it's any consolation, people were being honest in what they said earlier. Most of us didn't want to change messageboards, because we'd had the old one since the very beginnings of ober.net. The main reason we switched over was because some boards were starting to attract spam and this was the only way the web tekkies could find to keep the spammers away. So - don't be mad! Look - we eventually did do what you suggested.  |

Personally, I was against the change, because I believe that all the suggestions that you made involved having to have our own server with PHP, MySQL, etc. type capabilities, which was completely and utterly impractical for a club such as ours. Along comes Timm with the sensible Proboards suggestion and voila, here we are. Yeah well, I wasn't aware of proboards until about a month ago, and I assumed it needed PHP or something as well. Also, how come you found that thread so fast? Its a conspiracy I say! Everyone is out to get me...  |

i didnt really want to change either and i still like the old boards much better, but meh. go with the flow. welcome back, by the way! from the mysterious land that so many people have disappeared to! did you have fun there??

I didn't really like them at first they confused me where the other ones were much sipler but i got used to them and it stopped invaders so I am all for them now and they have cool things the other boards didn't have. ;D
