*Dances with larana* Ummmm... What's a thesis? I've heard of it but I don't actually know what it is... Congrats for finishing it, it's probably very hard to do.

It was on belief revision, only really interesting to those in cognitive psychology but I will try to explain and make it sound interesting (if you get bored feel free to sleep) I was interested in looking at how the structure of a belief moderates the influence of disconfirming information and whether this is different for social and non social beliefs. Basically will disconfirming evidence have the same effect on a high/low variable belief about books vs. a high/low variable about Obernewtyn.netters Interestingly, I got the results I was looking for, and for a thesis, that is a total bonus! In answer to the question Elspeth Innle: in psych at UNSW a thesis is a 15000 research paper which has to address a novel and interesting research question in the area of psychology. Basically, I conducted experiments for six months, analysed the data for 1 month and wrote up the paper for two and a half months.
Needless to say, I am thrilled it is over....

That thesis sounds extremely interesting! Are you going to get it published in a journal or somewhere people can read it?

A thesis is a little long to be published in a standard journal but I am going to publish it in a revised and very much shorter form. It has already been accepted to be presented at a conference in Houston Texas which is quite exciting.
Academia can be great fun if you are a nerd like me
