I just had to check to see if you were Australian or not. As you're Irish you should know what Ovaltine is. Try some of that. It worked for my sister when she was younger

We know what Ovaltine is Fuil - I read when I have trouble sleeping. Get really comfy, really warm, then read. Puts me out like a light, usually For remedies...what about a nice cup of chamomile tea before bed? It's supposed to be relaxing.

I think we're building up quite the collection of Mystic vegi's I still go by the age old trick of trying to stay awake when I want to sleep. As soon as I start consciously trying to keep myself thinking and awake, I fall asleep. Another sleep problem, is the temperature of the room you're sleeping in. It's all very well and good to wake up warm and cosy, but a cooler temperature signals the body to go into sleep mode, so make sure your room isn't too hot. Then of course, don't do any exercise less than an hour before you go to bed, or for that matter, anything too strenuous, because then of course you'd have to cool down

We also have solid little Ovaltineies...I dont know how theyre spelt. But I live off them. They are just the best thing ever. Fuil - I used to have heaps and heaps of trouble sleeping. I had this herbal stuff, and it helped heaps, but then I got sort of immune to it...I dont know, but what Rigel said helps me too Good luck! I know, it sucks so much!

I can never get to sleep. My mind doesn't shut off, so I get nice and cosy then think up a story in my mind. After about five minutes I slip off to sleep. Or try drinking chamomile of peppermint tea. Works a charm.

I turn on my electric blanket til I'm nice and cosy and read for a bit and it normally works. Sometimes I sleep well if I've exercised about 2-3 hours before I go to bed.

I think we're building up quite the collection of Mystic vegi's We shall take over the world one day! ;D Is there something potentially distracting in your room, Fuil? Like, say, your computer? If so, remove it! I'm not particularly a believer in things like "bad vibes", but having large electronic equipment in your bedroom probably isn't sleep-inducing. That aside, it may simply be a matter of unwinding properly. Don't watch TV/be on the computer within an hour of going to bed. Reading is probably a good idea, assuming the material isn't overly-simulating! Oh, and above all, don't give in, even if you lie there for hours. The last thing you need to do is switch on your light again, since it will only delay sleep even further.

We shall take over the world one day! ;D You're not supposed to tell them AF! There is a computer. I'm house sitting at the moment in my sister's house at the moment and i usually sleep on the couch in her living room. I'v found that the most comfortable and I don't much like sleeping in other people's bedroom's. Her computer is in her living room. There is always much too much light. I can't close the door because it's blocked open by something and light from street lights outside comes in through a small glass window by her front door. I like to open the window fully but when i do there's light from street lights. grr. :/ and if i dont it's much too stuffy. the other thing is i usually don't open it in case i forget to close it when i leave the house. the bedroom's arent any better because there arent any blinds or curtains upstairs and there is too much light from the street lights or from other houses. The unwinding thing is a good idea and something imight need to do. Usually i finish work, get the bus home, have something to eat if i'm not too tired and then try to go to sleep. I slept about 13 or 14 hours on saturday/sunday but that was after being awake for 32 or 33 so that doesn't count as getting proper sleep. still it helped. Usually i find it easiest to sleep during the day, like in the forenoon through to the afternoon. but somedays i have to go to work then. I'll try reading. it has worked for me before. i havent had the time for it recently or i have been too tired. or i had nothing good to read.

you should probably get back into some sort of sleeping habit... i have no doubt ur 32/33 hrs awake plus the other late nights contributed to the ruining of what sleeping pattern you may have had...

I get very insomniac-ish at times too, but I have yet to find anything that helps. Usually I just potter around the house until I'm tired. I don't recomend it as it's not at helpful - I've stayed up and seen quite a few sunrises because of it. But usually I get tired and go to bed by 2. I'm ok with it, I just get really grumpy on days I have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to go to uni
